5.9L Engine Club
i got 13mpg with superchips on fuel saver on the hilly highways around here so said f-it and been doing the performance tune ever since.my avg by computer calc's is 12.4 but hey, its a big *** truck
thanks guys i love the 5.9l engine its got so much power. how hard is it to change the plenum gasket in this engine. i think mine is going bad. how can you tell. sorry if this is not where to post this
Well i dont know if it told you but that was my very best and that was all highway driving. my truck is only 2wd and i barely ever haul. i got straight exhaust and a k&n filter. that and autolite copper plugs. i can take a pic of the trip and how much gas i put in and do the math on here to prove it. not tryin to be a dick. i just got on here to get answers to my questions and talk to other dodge guys.
No its not a 4 banger i wouldnt be in this club if it was. That was my personal best. i have a regular cab 2wd short bed with 4:10 posi in the rear end. runnin at 70 on the highway i got 27 mpg and in town i still get 16-17. i have a 25 gallon tank too.
well tough ram, you must have gotten the golden egg.
here is a good run down for plenum replacement. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/diy-do-...e00ram360.html
use a flashlight and look down into the TB, if you see any pooling of oil in the intake manifold you need to replace.
