I did this mod myself for the first time in 2007 and it took me all day. The drivers side was a pain to do, passengers side was easy since I removed my cai.

If you want to see how my instal went just go to dtw and look under magnum in the forums section then look for the title HS 1.7 RR, "NeedYourAdvice, "Please"

Thanks for the advice, also I only have a Flow master 40 and a K and N filter on her right now. Thanks for saving me the money on the spacer. So that is what the Durangos have for intake a "Kegger"? Lets start with $500-$1000. was looking at the Gen 11 K&N 57 Series air intake as well as a JET Performance Chip....What else/different would you suggest? thanks

yes all of the magnum engines have kegger style oem intake manifolds.
yes a cai (cold air intake) is a good place to start, along with a 180* thermostat.
ditch the jet chip and go for a superchips programmer, much better!!!!!!!!!!! IMO jet chips are a joke...

thats what i would start with, then get some headers, bigger throttle body, roller rockers, ect..ect....

I cant wait to change mine. I just got all the stuff to change it along with cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and 180 T-stat. I hope afterwards I feel some added power with having a good plenum.

go with the hughes plenum and intake gaskets. and i also changed t-stat, valve cover gaskets, breather, pcv valve, ported throttle body, plugs, 8.5mm wires, coil, cap/rotor. and its amazing, before, i couldnt peel out very well, now it peels out like nothin, its awesome

and to do it, it took me 18 hours, including about 6 hours of cleaning. and when i got it back together my fuel inetors were leaking, and i re-oringed them all. then my plugs were misfiring. thank god i drew a diagram of it. i was off one prong on each one. so those setbacks are what made it take longer, other than that it was a breeze

and my oil PSI was at 35 idle, and about 45 running. now my Oil psi at idle is 45, and running, its about 55. literally i feel double the power
