I hooked up a scan tool to my truck and my temp was at 175-177 after letting the truck run for about 20 minutes (so that means the t-stat is fine?). I think I might go out and get my coolant flushed and see if that helps. After changing my plenum, we did have a fill the radiator a couple times probably letting air get in.

I'd say it oughta open in the 180s and run between 18o 1sh and maybe 190 ish not the 170 range.

I'd try a different stat.

I mean as long as it still works, I would not worry about it if it is off a bit. ?

if your heat is hot theres nothing to worry about. is there a possible air pocket? Not bled right? i found when i first started mine (after plenum fix...replacd t-stat too by a stat from the dealer) the temp kept getting way to far up. and id have o shut it down. then when it got up again, i held the gas at 2000RPM and the heat slowly went down into 195 degrees. and its been thee ever since...never goes above 195. and when warmed up it stays directly at 195. where is the position of you jiggler valve facing?

on the thermostat there is a small valve. i found to get best results when that is facing the manifold.

and whn you bled it you had the front end higher than the rear right? and have heat on full blast when you started it?

When I get off work I am going to hook up a hose the heater core and see if thats clogged up first before I spend 60 bucks to get my system flushed. Im not to sure about the t-stat, is there a way to check without taking if off?
