If you choose to make your own CAI you can take the breather tube and either do what we did with Johnny's and put a small filter on it or you can drill a hole in the actual intake tube itself and insert it in there. Basically, the crankcases on vehicles have always had a vent for gases, but in '06 federal law mandated that the gases could not be vented straight into the atmosphere. I believe Dodge started complying early, around '02.
