welcome NY01
Good luck with the ball joints, On the 99-01 dana 60 it's a PITA.
Since you live in the rust zone your hub will be fun to remove also.
Make sure you get the tapered ball joint removal kit

Thanks for the best wishes. Ball Joint went off with out a hitch. A buddy ended up doing it for me as i was stuck working. But he had it out and in in 45 minutes. Gotta love having a shop to work in once in a while.

Can anyone tell me how to find out specifics of my vehicle such as what axel and rear end I have. What gears and so forth? I am guessing it is all stock as the only addons I have found are the plastic rain guards and bug guard which have been removed.

Thanks

The best way is to get a build sheet from your local dealer, it's free just bring in your VIN to the parts counter.
You will have the Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear(single wheel) or Dana 80 rear(dually)
I just posted this stuff earlier in the 2nd gen section for another v10 owner.
Anyway I think almost all the v10s came with the 3.55 from the factory but many upgrade I'm still nearly stock except for my exhaust, as there aren't many mods for the 488.

Some pdfs for parts manuals and service manuals below

Putting myself into the club. Pics are in the garage. Notice the propane Dual-fuel set-up.

I just bought one. Found it in Iowa, made the deal, flew out and drove it back to NH.

2001 with 87k, auto with 3.55's, fully loaded. Not sure about the hood or stainless panels yet, but the wheels and tires have to go.

Default V-10 spark plugs

Ok V-10 owners, I think it's time I changed my spark plugs and wires. Got about 45K on what I have in it now, with gas prices the way they are here, in the shen val, Va, $3.64/gal, I thought some new ones were in order. Question is, what are you guys using, and what kind of results are you getting, ie; gas mileage, power etc?? I've got a gas station that sells ethenol free gas, and have been using it now since last fall. Im getting about 10.5mpg back n forth to work,(its my daily driver), 3.55 gears n 285/75r16 pro comp a/ts. Ya'll got any suggestions??? Thanks, Bfoot.

New to the Dodge forums, just found this thread.
I have a 95 that I've had since 96, I love my V10, I use it mainly for towing my Jeep cj to the trails, and hualing firewood.
I just redid my exaust, I left it the same as factory except I used Magnaflow cats and a flowmaster Big Block 70 series muffler.
Sounds good to me, pretty quiet, just a little rumble to it.

I've ran both Bosch and Champion, the truck seems to like the champion QC9MC4 the best. I've had two 95's (the first one got totaled) the one with 3:55 gears got 15mpg highway the one I have now has 4:10 gears and gets 11 (both of these are empty on the highway) pulling a 7000# trailer I get about 8. this is with 33" tires.

I would run the OEM QC Champion Copper plugs or switch over to the Champion Truck plugs. As for wires, go for the Red 8.5mm MSD wires: Part number 32299

Default E3 Plugs

I installed the E3 plugs in my v-10. So far I am very happy with them. Noticeable improvement in power and slight improvement in mileage
