Hurst line lock is incompatible w/front ABS brakes. (that's why I ordered this R/T w/o 'em) When installing the line lock... use the Hurst installation kit with the appropriate lines and fittings. It's about $30. and well worth the savings in aggravation and time.

i had line lock for a few races, and i didnt see the point. i could maybe understand it if i had a manual car, but with the mirada, i barely even have to touch the brakes in a water box to smolder the tires into 3rd gear...

You're also smoldering your brakes at the same time. In the waterbox... heat creats steam... mixed w/rubber particles. When you stage... those droplets have collected on your inner fender well... and fall directly onto the tire surface. Water boxes are fine for open wheeled cars. I've avoided water since the old days 'cause of that.

if you say so...judging by the fact that my 3800lb car hops the front wheels when i launch, im not too worried about that minor amount of water vapor. and i should have specified "in the water box"..at national events i write "no water" on the windshield...on an even slightly damp water box even the little RT will smoke the tires...i just dont understand the need for line lock unless someone doesnt have enough power to spin the tires, and lacks the coordination to do a burnout.

I do a dry 2nd gear burn at 5000 rpm for 3-4 seconds. Having 4 wheel discs on this thing (and prior with the drums) it don't pay to burn the brakes out. Using the line lock (on the line) is not recommeded 'cause it'll push the front wheels (braked) over the light in gear.

that is a big problem with line lock..people think that it will act like a trans brake and hold the car or truck at the starting line, then they push through..i had one just to see how it would do on the mirada, but it was pointless..like i said, i dont even have to hodl the brakes..if the QTPs are even a bit damp, they will smoke through all 3 gears.

I prefer no to smoke 'em at all past the burn out. I still get 2nd gear squeak tho. Street... chirps all gears thru OD at WOT.
