Default Front end alignment.

I have a 97 Dakota with 115,000 miles. I have never been able to keep the front end alignment in spec for more than 15,000 miles or so. Then it starts to pull to the right and eats tires. Is there a modification for the front end to help with this? Do I need new upper A arm bushings? Please help me.

Keep aligning it, although it should last longer than that. Do you keep hitting curbs while parking or somethin?

I try not to abuse the truck. I haven't hit any curbs or potholes lately. I try to take speed bumps at low speed too. Thank you for your reply!

I can only think that you have a faulty component or that whoever is aligning it is not tightening up the bolts sufficiently, thereby not keeping it aligned.

that would be scary, i cant imagine driving a vehicle and losing a tierod, most people know that when they are doing alignments that if they dont double check their work someone can seriously be hurt, i know i double checked everything when i do them

I was thinking more about the control arm bolts, they must be tightened very tight.
Guess you are younger than me I've run into to many guys that could care less, or are just plain dumb or careless. (Unfortunately)

Depending on what side of the tires are being eaten up, I'd say control arms. I'd take it some place with a 4 wheel laser alignment rack, they can check all of your suspension angles to make sure they are within spec, and it all costs the same if they do one thing or all of it. Hope this helps.

Check the balljoints to see if they they have axial( up in down) also if there is anything bent in the front end have it replaced ASAP. Pittman arm, idler arm A & B frame bushings, or your truck is just messed up.
