Default Changing Tire Size

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to increase the width of tire tread and keep the current height of tire. I have a 06 Magnum
with the stock rims. I like the wheels and don't want to change them. I currently have P225/60R18's

Any good tire place can get you the size. I believe you can change to 215/50 without messing up your speedo.

235/55/18 is only .2 inches shorter and is only 12 revolutions faster. I belive you should be ok with the width but I would check just to make sure with a trial fit. 215/50 is skinnier and just over an inch shorter an 60 revs per mile faster.

Thanks for the info. I checked at the dealer, and of couse they want me to buy a new rims and tires. I 'll check with a good tire dealer. I watched an episode on Overhaulin" and they put a larger tire on the stock rim of a Magnum. I wrote to them to see if they would reply, but haven't gotten a reply yet!

A good tire dealer is going to look at the same thing you can on line using a tire calculator. your biggest concern other then the overall diameter is the width of the tire and turning.

Just so you have the tools, I'd like to give you a Wheel Calculator link to help you better understand the wheel revolutions that thump was stating.
Wheel Calculator
You can do a virtual try on, some other calculators may give different numbers but I find that they are all pretty close. I hope that helps.
