Any experiences with a WRX?
The current '06-'07 STi looks like crap to me, the slightly older version '03-'05 and the newest restyled version '08-up look great. The EVO X looks bad as hell. As far as WRX's go I like the '03-'05 best.
Yeah I am loving my 58% monstab757 thanks for asking. I bought my car used with 16,000 miles on it and I test drove a couple cars before I bought this one and you can find srt-4's that where taken care of if you really want one.
I've had my 06 wrx for over a year and love it. It is very easy and inexpensive to achieve around 300whp on an 06 wrx. I've spent about $1500 and put down 302whp on a mustang dyno. Cobb is expensive and over rated. Almost $600 for the module. You can get tuned using an EM called OpenECU which is free. I bought a vf39(06sti turbo), sti intercooler, 3in. exhaust and got tuned via OpenECU (stock intake and bpv). I did 12.50 @ 109 with a 1.8 60. The driver will depend on whether a new gear set will be needed. The 3rd gears are the "weaker" ones but at 300whp itshouldn't be a problem. If you do upgrade gears an aftermarket clutch is not recommended and especially not recommended for stock gears. Upgraded clutches will put more load on the gears and increase strain.
With awd cars the launch is the most important thing. As with fwd cars, the launch is important but time can be made up down the track. AWD cars depend on the launch since thats their advantage over fwd/rwd but weight is their huge disadvantage. I see horrible awd drivers at the track all the time.
I think when I get mine I willgo with some ppg gears just to be on the safe side once I can afford it then do a vf39 swap, TBE, and try to find a good tuner and just get a dyno tune. After that I will do some suspension stuff as well. These cars come tuned really terribly from subaru and can pump out some good power even in pretty near stock form.
First of all, glad to be a hairy chested hetero Dodge driver here.
Any thing besides a Mopar is just gay. That's a fact. But if you are as confident in your sexuality as I am, you wont mind those times in your life when you do truly drive a gay car. I had a Buick. It was gay. I had a Ford, it was gay. I still own a Chevy that was at one time red but is now faded red almost Pink and yes very gay. The most gay car I ever drove was gladly a rental. It was a flaming pink Hyundai. It would've made Elton John barf it was so gay. I had no choice as it was the only car on the lot at that time. However, I have survived and am no less a man for it, maybe even more of a hetero man for having survived the temptations of liking one of my former gay vehicles. (the Ford was a 90 5.0 Stang) I know now, without a doubt , that I am not even a little bit gay, and that a Mopar is truly the last and only Non Gay car.
So buy a Suby if you must. I'm sure it's a fine vehicle, just know that if you ask me, I'll tell you it is definitely gay. It won't however, make you gay.

13.6 @ 106, awesome times yo! I guess slower makes you more of a man also. This is not a hit on srt4's since I own one, butI wouldn't considerruning mid 12's with under 2k invested, gay. It is a very reliable car and easy to make fast. I know 90% of people on here have biased opinions since it is an srt4 forum, but at one point I hated the srt4 because it is just a turbo'd neon. I took a drive in my friends stage 3 srt4 and from a roll the car kicked ***. So I picked one up, and it's a nice car. Definately the best bang for the buck.
Yeah I love both wrx and srt4 and I could seriously care less if some homophobe calls it a gay mans car. After owning a few dodges I am very tired of their quality and since I love the wrx that won me over. I know there will be haters on here for the wrx but it's also nice that all but two guys in here have been pretty mature with their posts regarding the vehicle. Also, if gay people driving subarus is the only bad thing to sayabout them, then it sounds like a good product to me. I can name countless problems with dodges after owning a few of them over just the obvious stereotype of rednecks driving them lol. I am not saying dodge sucks as most cars have issues, all I am saying is that if saying it is a gay car is the only insult for it and there are no issues with quality or reliability then it sounds like a good car to me. I could care less who drives what.
