most guys I have read are getting 24-29 mpg. I drive pretty much all highway so even if I got 25 mpg I would love life. On a GREAT fill up now I am getting 16 mpg.

wow, how did we go from a discussoin on the WRX to homosexuals?
The reason it was brought up was the advertising campaign that Subaru had years ago which featured several well known lesbian/gay celebrities and they were targeting the gay community to sell their vehicles to. It did increase their sales to them causing a far greater concentration of the gay population driving Subaru's, thus this subjectbeing brought up even though it has noting to do with this topic, but I don't think it helped their total sales any and it probably drove away many straight consumers causing their sales to drop overall.

Wow this was a very interesting thread, how it went from a regular wrx vs srt4 to sti vs srt4 and gay guysand lesbians buying suburu but that is why I love this forum. In my experiences with stock wrx's they are not as fast as srt-4's period. As I always say though any car with a good driver can beat a supposedly faster car with a bad driver but the same driver in a wrx and a srt4 the srt4 will win all the time from a dig or a roll. The wrx will get the jump from a dig but by the end of 2nd the srt4 will catch the wrx and continue to pull on it. I have never raced one that was stock but when I was stock I raced a couple with exhaust and still would pull 4 cars by 4th from a dig. And no I do not think my car is the fastest car in the world like some people on here do but it is a very fast car. I was looking to get a wrx before I got my srt-4 but I drove them both and totally different cars butto each his own. If you decide to get a wrx good luck with it cause they are still nice cars but stock are not as fast as a srt-4.

Yeah as I said if dodge still made neon srt4's new I would be going that route btu I just will not own a performance vehicle unless it is brand new or I am going through and rebuilding the whole thing. I hate the caliber too so that is out of the question. I knew the srt4 would beat the wrx so I was just wondering by how much. Thanks for the info guys!

you're still gonna have to rebuild if its new, stock internal wont get you as far as you want, so to me its all the same...I wouldnt careif my srt4 had 40000000 miles on it, because I know I'll still end up blowing the motor and rebuilding it or buying a new built motor

i would def get a EVO before i get a STI!!!!! i dont think STIs' look good.. i dont like there front bumper, the huge ****ing scoop on their hood.. plus having the intercooler in the engine instead of down by the bumper looks dumb to me.. but just my opinion!

Yes the tmic is a bad idea and everyone knows that a fmic is a MUCH better design, that is why wrx's and sti's have the huge scoops though as that is right were the ic is.

flaming, your statement is true but I don't plan to build the motor right now or anytime in the near future so I just want something that I know will last at stock power for the time being. I have had some friends that got srt4's and totally ignored the break in procedure and their cars run like **** now, same with a friend of mine that has an 07 sti and a friend of mine that just got an evo IX less than a month ago. Th evo is yet to be determined how it holds up as it is so new but the sti makes some funky noises and all that and they all follow the regular maintenence procedures. I would just prefer to have a nice working vehicle until I can afford to do the motor build and not HAVE to do it. Lol that post is kind of long an dmay not make sense but if it does then you understand where I am coming from. I just really hate that dodge discontinued the neon therefore cancelling the srt4's. I like the styling and all that of a wrx more just not the performance and right now I'll take looks over a few tenths in the quarter as it is just going to be a daily driver.

silverblack, I go back and fourth on which one I like more between the evo and the sti. I like the evo because it is mean looking at just looks sweet while the sti is more of a mild look. The evo has the sti in performance by fractions of a second all around and has things like recaro buckets and an fmic BUT out of the evo's I have been in they just seem cheaper made than the sti's so the sti gets the nod from me. I also like that you can change where the power goes in an sti for drifting and all that while the evo is stuck with what you get from the factory.

Glad to see this forum isn't full of a bunch of haters that are blind to other makes and just think the skittle is the end all be all of performance 4 cylinders.

yeah i know why the sti/wrx have the big scoop on the hood.. i just think evo are very rad cars!!! and where i'm from (nebraska) wrx/sti are all over the evo is rare here so if i liked them equal i'd get the evo cuz they are alittle rare here!

They are both pretty rare but I see more evos. Out of the fast 4 bangers out there (including slow ones like sentra spec-v's and civic si's) I would say i see more srt4's than anything. There are 4 in my parking lot at work. It's ok by me though, I enjoy looking at them
