Hi, I'm having a small problem with my SRT-4.

It started when I was cruising around. I love my rattling and popping sound from my exhaust, well it has almost a stock exhaust. Usually when i'm driving I let go of my gas pedal my car slows down as it should do but I noticed it yesterday it keepsthe same speedwhen I let the gas pedal go.

Let's say I'm doing 30 mph and let go of the gas pedal and it holds 30 mphfor a couple of seconds and then slows a bit down and then again it holds around 20 mph for a couple of seconds. I know this isn't just my imagination because I've never noticed this before...

I think I can't describe this better. My car is all stock under the hood. I can't take it to the dealers because the dealer is 800km away from here and this is an imported car and not by the dealer so there is no insurance there. Does anyone know what my problem might be?

does it do this when the car is not in gear as well? the TPS sensor / wiring are known to go bad in these babies

 

No, I havn't seen the rev jumping up if your talking about that. it's steady now in about 800-900rpm.

 

wow, perfect timing haha...i have the exact same problem in my car and it JUST started yesterday. I have a cold air intake on mine and it just seems to hold throttle pressure sometimes when you let off the pedal. Im going to check the sensors and everything again after school but if it persists then im going to take it in to a shop. my check engine light is on as well...

 

It would rev up on me when i had a vacuum leak. And it would idle high for a least 20 seconds or so. So maybe do a boost leak test. I had my leak threw the OCC, it was odd but fixable heh.

 

mine idles ok most the time sometimes it drops below 700 and almost lugs out but then revs up again, but when im driving and i try to let the gears slow it down and let off the throttle completely it holds at around 2-2.5k rpms and keeps moving but when i put the clutch in it stops doing it. but it doesnt consistantly do it...any ideas?

 

Can you please let me know what you figure out I hate is, I want to have my car perfect. Well, my sunroof has broken down as well, it's stuck open and it's gonna rain this weekend lol. I just hope I can fix it.

Great, ur the best. I was checking my rpm in no gear earlier today and sometimes it goes up a notch for a short periot of time, jumping to 1500rps and down to 800-900 again. Lets hope it's the same as your and that it's hard to fix

 

mine idled ok, almost lugged out a couple times never over revved but it holds throttle pressure through 1st and a little in 2nd and 3rd even with no gas being applied so it keeps going instead of slowing down like it should. its like its got a mind of its own right now haha
