RE: COLD AIR INTAKE....???
i might just go with k&n im not only looking for performance but i also want some looks, and by the way 71RoadRuner's looks that might just be it. how does the k&n sound. i've heard soem intakes that sounds like a turbo spooling up. sounds great, so i was just wondering if that was the case with the k&n..

The K & N sounds great! At an idle it sounds quite just like stock. With light throttle when you let off the gas you hear the turbo flutter which sounds kinda like a rattle snake. Under moderate throttle you hear the spooling of the turbo quite nicely, but under heavy to WOT you hear the turbo scream loudly, it sounds like a train whistle! Oh how I love my K & N. As far as I have read, it looks like the K & N Typhoon gives the largest power gains. I would love to see someplace test all available CAI's to see which truely is the best, but what is the best on a stock motor is most likely not the best on a well modified motor and the same applies in reverse.

"see posthondaremoval, you have a short ram from aem... the aem cai is what does damage. the extension tube hits the hood. so there is a difference thats why when i said cai i ment cai not ram. "
my bad, gump - guess I'd better read a little more carefully.
Sorry to hear the CAI has fitment issues.

RE: COLD AIR INTAKE....???
modernperformance tells me that the iceman puts out a couple more horses than the k&n, presumably b/c the plastic does not heat soak like the metal on the k&n does, and the routing is supposed to be straighter (according to mp). i think i've decided on the k&n though, it just looks so much better, plus i can put a heat wrap on it if i'm really worried about a couple degrees.
