Oil Catch Can: Its Purpose.
I believe the others will verify, but it won't hurt anything to add another one... Roadrunner and I believe Roach both have two on their cars (possibly others as well... I can't remember what everone has done to their cars
)
)
Yeah, many of the folks here who have CAIs have added a second OCC. Otherwise, a 2nd one is not really needed...
Yeah, it's only something you want to get if you have a CAI or a short ram. You can either get a second OCC or you can run it into your existing OCC with a Y adapter and simply plug off the opening on the CAI tube. I went with a second OCC to see exacly how much oil is lost from each hose. If you run a second OCC you will begin to wonder about it, because it doesn't loose nearly as much oil as the PCV hose and it may take a few weeks before you even notice any starting to accumulate in the second OCC. But believe me, it will eventually start collecting it.
one quick question. on the 20 OCC the arrow on the cap. should that point to the firewall or to the front end? Im sure i have it right but i wanna be sure lol
It should be pointing in the direction of the air flow (towards the throttle body, away from the PCV valve).
The posting on srtforums about the OCC pointed that out, and I THINK the instructions with the Cambell-Hausfeld part said to make sure the arrow pointed in the direction of the air flow (since it's actually an air compressor filter).
I've noticed that if my OCC gets more than about 1/2 full, I start getting little oil specks on the tail of my SRT-4. And since I put the Stage 1 on, it fills at least twice as fast as it did before the Stage 1....due to the increase in the boost according to RR.....
