Any problems with the srt-4 04's???
I do play burned CD's, but I never tried it in my SRT-4. It doesn't matter now anyway, I installed my Alpine this afternoon. Now I know for a fact that I can play all burned CD's.
Mine had a problem with holding cd's in the top main unit (not the changer) I found the problem myself though! If you ever run into this problem, the thing that is causing it is that the panel above the cdplayer is put in so tight that it kinda mashes the top of the cdplayer..........The only thing you have to do to correct this is take the main cover off (in a srt it's the whole middle silver thing....by the way, there is 2 screws behind the vents) loosen, the box above it with a phillips screw driver, hold it farther up and re-tighten, then put it back together. this frees up the cdplayer and it will no longer hold the cd's in. Mine works everytime now!
Yup, it costs more, but it's a small price to pay for so much fun!!!
Just be sure to take your own syn oil to the dealer if you get your oil changes there, or be prepared to pay even more....

Yeah these engines can take quite the beating.
Problems:
1. #4 Spark Plug wire. If your #4 wire looks like the other three, and its white...replace it. If not your CEL will come on and you'll have a misfire.
2. A couple people have had problems with the flywheel bolts backing out on them, destroying the clutch....no TSB on it yet.
3. And yet a few more people have a throttle stick at 3krpms.....
I can't think of anymore right now...if I do I'll letcha know.

RR, Is there a specific reason why the needle flutter occurs at 70-75mph. It's kind of annoying when you have OCD tendencies. Is there anyway of fixing this problem. I know this is an old post but I didn't want to start a new one.
Thanks for an replies.

The only issues with the SRT-4 are the plug wires, which has been mentioned already, and the speedometer developing a slight case of the needle becoming jumpy between 70 and 75 MPH. It is actually only a slight movement back and forth between 70-75 that only moves 1-2 MPH back and forth.
