I know of those tracks, they kickass. Down in the southwest where i live though, a relatively good track to race on is pretty hard to find. Me and my friend with his z-28 usually just end up tearing down the local open highways.

Well I'm lucky enough to have two very nice tracks nearby (Gingerman and Grattan) so that not a problem, but like PSI said it's way too expensive and that's if you dont tear anything up. Right now my SRT functions as my preferred daily driver and I just cant see subjecting a DD to that kind of abuse. I have been invited and even very tempted to go to one of the open track days where they like you drive around for a few hours but they are always on my work days and it's 65 bucks just to do that. IMO, you gotta have a lot of disposable income to road race and I at this time, do not.

I have the luxury of havin another vehicle so my car is not a DD. It is still a street car though, I hate trailer queens. To answer PSI, i am in southwest texas, about 6 hours east of El Paso in Odessa, TX. The closest track that i know of that is even worth driving on is in DFW. Thats an eight hour drive from where i'm at.
