But can he make it last? Only time will tell. Nice to know he can take a car when he's never been to a track.
Make numbers, THEN brag how fast it is. I know how fast my car is. And I won't say what I can beat unless I run it or see it's slips.
Sorry, but the whole tuner attitude thing annoys me.

How the hell can you know that? You can't, so it's baseless bragging. No facts, just talk. Go on up to NED and see what happens. THEN talk.

thats a mighty statement sexy... Id hope that RIPSGUY has quite a bit more done than moded exhaust and S1 or that might be an humbling race with psichick... on the base i live on there are about 9 or 10 srt4's so i have seen quite a few different set ups. ive been to the track with a flight crew member who has the $$ so spend on his car, he tryed the S1 and do his own mods and spent quite a bit to run the same times as when he got S2 and he said it was so easy because it tuned it self, better than he could and his 1/4 mile times didnt really go down but his street races and highway races were way better.

yeah i agree with glhs837 on this subject, and i forgot that this car is really hard to pull good track times. i would never have expected how much different the track is than the street. thats all my friend i went with told me and i was like yeah whatever but after my first few runs i was like *** this is hard.

i'll run. i don't really care if i lose, but i know even if i do lose it won't be by much. i have enough confidence in my car and set up to do that unlike some people.

if you want to look at the whole cost issue, you're spending about the same either way. stage 1 (300), exhaust (350 at least), wga (150), mbc (50), so where are you saving money? s2 w/o toys is 775, to get the same output from other mods and it's just about the same price. and that's not including the 300 for a ebc if you want, or 500 for a stand alone. sounds about the same money to me.

ps - are you the same chick from srtforums that lost control and put her car into a wall on a highway last week? if so, sorry to hear about that. sounds like you really messed yourself up in that accident. hope the recovery is quick.

Yes PSIChick I am. I'm still not doing the greatest...but I'm alive. Could've been worse. I almost left the forum cause of those idiots, but had the post deleted instead.

To gump and glhs, when you've seen the race right in front of you, knowing the other car had stage 2 and his didn't, and clearly saw him take the cars one by one, I don't think NED and time slips really matter.

He says he can get things cheaper, and so far from what I've seen, he can and does.

I don't have a tuner attitude at all. I'm just conversing with you guys, from what I've seen. How he drives, and having been in the car with him while he's driving. He's amazing at handling cars. And he's been working on them his whole life. I don't know all of his mods....he's always got some trick up his sleeve. Lil punk that he is.

But I do think the race would be damn near close. Track numbers and street races are two totally different settings that cannot even be compared. Time slips mean nothing to me...I don't race. I'm even scared to drive right now.

Its not the car, its the driver....

[sm=imsorry.gif] I didn't mean to come off as rude, just making simple statements. I hate that about the internet, how everything can come off so much different than it does in real life. So I apologize, and if ever theres a meet where PSI Chick and Paul are both there, we'll see what happens.

Sound good? [>:]

sounds like a plan to me.

see i'm the oposite. i'm all about track times. racing on the street is too inconsistant and not a true measure of the abilities of the car or the driver. just changing streets on the same night can produce wildly different outcomes. i know plenty of people that run great on the street but can't do a damn thing on the track. i'm not talking about slow cars either. i know people that have cars that should run 10's at the track that can't break 13's, but get them on the street and they'll beat cars that i've seen run 10's at the track. it's a different world, and not comparable at all.

i know what a fast car looks and feels like. i know the difference just in the feel of the car between the track and the street. i prefer the track, where as many variables are optimized as possible and i can truly see what my car does. i don't think that the street is a good measure. but that's just me, and there are tons of people out there that will disagree. i did the street racing scene for a few years. i know the games that they play and the way that they are, and i know that i hate it. it's boring and tiresome and there's so much bs floating around that it gets sickening. we still get sucked into it at times, getting called out and such, and neither of our cars has ran on the street in at least a year. it never goes away. maybe it's just the scene in new york that's like that, but i can't stand it.

I've never been to a track, so if ever I were to go to NED it would be a totally new experience for me. I'd like to run, and have always wanted to be licensed to race professionally, but never got around to doing it.

Here in RI, I had my ***** busted by V8s all the time, and I'd give em a run for their money, but nothing crazy, I can't see the point to street racing anymore. When I had my stratus R/T i would race everyone in sight, regardless of the car, if they were ready, so was I. But I'm not into that scene anymore. I love the adrenaline rush of driving the car, and the sound of turbo whistling at me.....

And yes street racing IS TOTALLY filled with bull**** [:@]....tons of people talking **** about their duct taped alumminum foil intakes. I went to a Sat night fling at a Wendys here one night in Warwick, RI, where ricers play, and there was this stock 89 CRX rolling around with a yellow painted engine, and no hood on. Took his hood off to "get more horsepower yo". [sm=dontgetit.gif] Riiiiight I mean **** 60whp would be enough for me in that car.

To each his own.... But I've gotta wait and see if I can even get my baby back or if its time for an 05 Orange.

See, CM, my point was that you cannot state something as a fact unless it is repeatable and verifiable. The sky is blue is a perfect example. But I have seen bone stock SRTs turn in 15+ second runs. Hell, been 14.6 and 14.8 myself a few times.
You canot judge the worth of something based on one race. And all respect to Paul, but even experienced mechanics can be bit by this car and it's computer.

As simple thing as a loose hose can cost .3 or more in the 1/4 mile. and most folks who suffer from this think the car is running great. I know I did. Hell, I'm pulling 20psi, I gotta be faster!!!!!!!!!!! But I wasn't. A wastegate car would have whipped my ***.
Still might, but that's my driving skill, not the car.

I'm not knocking Paul or his car, but to categorically state that Stage 2 sucks is not valid. It's fine that the other car had S2, but that just means Paul beat THAT S2 car. Right after I put S2 in, I whipped up on a 94 Vette. Does that mean that all 94 Vettes suck? Nope, just that I beat that one.

"guaranteed he'd take you. (not to be rude, just to be factual)" Sorry, CM, where I come from, that's bragging, not conversing.

As PC said, when you go cost to dollar, to safely make the same power of the base kit , your going to end up about the same. To match the features of S2, same deal.

the track is an amazing place and even track to track you can see different times. the first 5 times i ran on the track i got a rush staging that ive never gotten from any street race. the local track i go to is known for slower than usal times and ive seen a few terrorable times from cars that should run great example i saw a 04' Z06 run a 14.8 with a 03' firebird ran a 14.9 in the lane next to him. it was terrorable the guy with the Z06 left after that run. i felt bad for him.
