Again I state.....Its ALL in the driver. If you can't WOT perfectly....don't bother you'll break things. If you can....all the power to you, and your car in the high torque band.
uhh... if you can't WOT perfectly don't bother... how the heck else do you learn to do it... come on... I mean, right off the bat you said you couldn't even drive a stick when you first got your car - using this logic - if you can't drive a stick don't buy the car... practice, practice, practice...

I'm not bashing here... I just don't follow your logic...

and just for clarification... I don't recall Dusty being in the WOT shift discussion on the other thread...

I agree with SRY-YA. If you fumble regular shifts, dont bother. Trust me, the tranny and clutch will hold up, unless your pushing 300hp. I was WOT-ing last night on the way home, try fourth gear at 60mph, and slam third. It rocks.

I used to do WOT shifts , first thru fourth on my 85 Daytona turbo. Granted I had a centerforce clutch in it, It NEVER broke. That car had NO wheel hop issues, and smoke pouring from the frt tires in third was a sight. (p225/50zr-15 Gatorbacks) Those gators did'nt last long. Thats why I call them, "GoodforaYear".
I miss that car, no A/C, no power windows, locks etc. It was light. I had everything Mopar had for that car, the race ported head, computer, larger turbo, shelby motorsports intercooler, all HD shift forks and synchros in the 525 transaxle, plus an in car boost control, to name a few. In that day, the Mustang heads hated that car. I smoked alot of those cars back then.

But then again, no matter how fast your car is, there is always someone with something faster. One woman with a 351 motor in a Mustang, (i think it had nitrous too), handed me my head on a platter!!!!

Just WOT it, it's fun.

You just agreed with what I said. If you can't do it perfectly don't bother. I've never WOT shifted in my life... I'm going off experience from what I've read and been told. And I definitely wouldn't try WOT'ing in a brand new car such as mine, I'd rather try it on a POS first. But what I was saying was, if you can't get it down...its not for you.

I'll teach you when your back in one piece.

You and your car. Your car is a freak anyway, I told you that. I think it's the fasted stock SRT-4 I ever drove.
BUT< you killed my wheel balance, it's gonna vibrate again when you get it back.

Awesome!!! That should be interesting. My car is a freak of nature. Fast lil bastid. NOOOOOO I hated that vibration!!! That was horrible!! I had to hold on for dear life at 55mph, forget even TRYING to go faster! The road balance...mmmm me love it.

I didn't kill your wheel balance, but you might've killed mine a couple weeks ago when we drove it. Not that I would know cause its at a body shop....but it'll get fixed anyways.

So when do I get my ride???

One piece? I'm never gonna be in one piece.

EEK!

One thread you guys are all praising WOT shifting in track racing, now your attacking someone who's answering a question that was posted in another thread?! Damn Dustylions, your quite harsh. [sm=icon_flaming.gif]
If you would like to know why he is, just check back in this link: https://dodgeforum.com/tm.asp?m=8887...ey=andy&#90771
Then you will know why Andy gets [sm=icon_flaming.gif] alot.

Just to make sure we are not confusing the issues here, and misnaming things. We are reffereing to the function of the Stage upgrades that, when used properly, results in a lound bang, correct? Like a backfire, really, only just one and sharply defined.
Not just a "speed shift".

Becuase if there's no bang, it's not what Mopar calls a WOT shift.

The bang is a bunch of extra fuel being dumped in such a way that it ignites in the exhaust manifold, keeping boost pressure through the shift.

I think MassSilverSRT4 (Dave from Somerset) does those often. Either that or he bounces off the rev limiter with his Stage 2. Cause when he does it right, flames shoot out from his exhaust....Coolest thing and loudest noise you'll ever hear.

Yeah, mine pops loud ocassionally on WOT shifts. I don't know if it shoots flames though. I hope so

WOT is never letting off the gas......and shifting as fast as you can. I doesn't backfire all the time though (it sounds like a backfire).

I'll have to have someone follow me at night to see if it shoots a flame.
