I'm weighing my options with a few srt-4s. One needs a few things done to it. It's a 2003 with 55 thousand miles. It needs a new clutch and it has a boost leak. Is it expensive to fix a boost leak? What should I look out for?
Thanks.
The guy that's selling it says it's running at like 5 psi. He said he took off a front mount intercooler, bov, and I think that's it. The reason he said he did that is b/c he went back to stock.
He also seems as if he's trying to get rid of it. Would it be wise for me to check it out and drive it up to the dealership and see what they think? The only thing about that is the mechanics might not be able to tell by looking at it.
Sorry to but into a conversation, But I have to agree that 5 psi is a serious leak, it could be the intake manifold gasket , or any thing elese between that and the turbo. Everything is repairable though.
That makes sense then .... if he didn't hook the vaccum lines up correctly you are just getting boost from the spring in the wastegate .... which should be 7psi if I'm not mistaken.
mine made a loud boom on the hwy. a while back, boost went to 8psi, come to find out the hose on the hot side blew apart from the metal pipe before the 90 degree bend going to I/C nipple.
