Default Mustang name falsely tarnished this time.

I like to bash Mustangs as much as anyone, but ABC screwed up in Chrysler's favor last night on the news.

I was watching the ABC (6) news in Philly last night(11/28/04) at 11:04pm and there was an incident report and pictures of a pretty bad crash. They said a Ford Mustang was travelling at a high rate of speed when it impacted a Toyota head on.

Now, the accident isn't a laughing matter - It looked bad.

But, when they showed the photos and video from the scene, The "Mustang" was actually a Chrysler Crossfire or SRT-6. I had to laugh.

It just goes to show that people have no idea what srt-vehicles are and/or that they have no clue about the new Dodges. Mustangs have a pretty bad name in general, and obviously this uneducated newscaster is misinformed.

1 for Dodge , -1 for Ford[:'(] lol

BTW - some Mustangs are good cars IMO but the number of crappy ones driven by idiots who think they can beat anything and do anything they want far outnumbers them.

P.S. - I would have put this post somewhere else, but I thought you guys and gals might get a kick out of it.

HOLY ****!!! Poor little SRT-6. I drove one of those buggers, holy hell fast *****!! lol! Yes....just like a Mustang, two seats......yip yup.

I was admiring a miata today at a ford/mazda/lincoln/mercury dealer and almost got hit by a 2005 puke *** green mustang. Idiot. Ugly car too.

Did anyone get seriously injured? Was it fatal? That toyota got owned hardcore. Then again so did the SRT-6.....ouch.

I HATE MUSTANGS!!!! I wish it was a mustang. One less POS on the road.

Actually after looking at the website, I am a little more upset about the reporters error and am thinking about sending them a letter. While the web article didn't mention the error that was made by the reporter at 11:04pm on the local news, I saw that it was a fatal accident. It really sucks that they can't do a little bit of research and get it right when two people die in the incident they are discussing.

Newscasters screw up like that all the time when they are talking about military vehicles and aircraft. I would say that they are wrong at least 50% of the time when they have to mention a specific aircraft, it will be an F-15 and they will say it's an F/A-18 or F-16. They are completely different, but they haven't a clue as to which is which.
