Thats such a sad story. It made me cry. You and your son are very brave people. What you did that night was extremely heroic. Not many people would have done that, especially in the situation you were in. I've been through quite alot myself in my 19 short years, and I can say that I can sympathize with you, but I can't say that I totally understand where your coming from. That must be extremely difficult to cope with (I wont use the word deal, that makes it seem like little Carter's a burden, which he isn't by any means).

I wish you and your family the best. This is probably one of the best threads I've read on here in a long time. If you really get to know someone you can truly learn from them, and learn from their mistakes as well as your own.

I should've died that night I got into the accident. My best friend had such a bad feeling that night that something was going to go wrong. He told me to "drive safe hunn, the roads are really wet and slippery, and you can hardly see, be careful." I said okay. But as I was finishing dinner, getting ready to go out, I looked out my Kitchen window. And said to myself, one of these night's somethings going to go wrong. I was supposed to be enrolled in a math class at my College, but dropped out a few days before I wasnt doing well. My parents didnt know yet. So I said to myself, wouldn't it be funny if I got into an accident tonight and they found out.

Somehow, some way, we both knew. Well long story short, I was an ******* that night. And though I didn't kill myself I need three back surgeries that I have to put off as long as possible. And I'll never walk normally again. I don't know why I didn't die, but I didn't.

So fingers, I don't fully understand where you're coming from, I couldn't possibly unless I was in that situation. But your a very brave man, so is little Carter. I wish you guys the best, and a Happy holiday season for your whole family.

Guys we can learn alot more from this thread than not to street race. Bad things happen to good people. Why? I'll never know...

No need to apologize. I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak for myself in saying if you ever need to vent, I'm here.

Yeah eb your right, they get to all of us!! But after my accident, I don't know. I'm scared to drive SRTs. And when I do drive them, which is rare n they stay in VAC the whole time. I think it'll take me awhile to, if ever I do, get back to street racing. I will however take him up to the track, where its safe, and thats what they're there for.

I learned my lesson, though i wasnt racing when I crashed I was at those speeds. And I'm just lucky that I didn't die learning it, like many other enthusiasts do.
