I seen a thread looks like everybody in their brother uses mobile 1 with the exception of a few running amsoil...
i usually run castrol full synthetic 0w-30 or 5w-30
what do you guys think i should run now...its kinda in the back of my mind that yall are gonna say mobile 1 lol

Mobile 1 for me, I see all this other stuff, but I like that Mobile 1 is the choice for Corvette, and other Hi-Po cars out there.
I use 5W-30, at least thats what the cap says to use, I have heard of others going 10W-30 but, IDK about that...
I have heard that some 2.4's take 10W-30 but that may just be a rumor???

I run 0w40 in the winter.5w30 the rest of the year. All Mobil 1 Full SynThe 03s manual stated that they should run 10w30, until an addendum came out with the 04s that said running 5w30 was better.
LilSparkPlug is right. The only reason I didn't switch over when the notice came out is that it was related to EPA gas mileage (thinner oil = more miles). I live in the DEEP south and she is in the frozen north...
. However, Mobil 1 is your best bet at $23 for 5 quarts at Wally World vs. 20% more for Amsoil despite what they say about extended oil changes. (Read the fine print, the extended oil changes DON'T apply to turbo cars like the SRT-4)

Yeah stay at 3k intervals. My friend decided (against my advice) to run his car right past the 5k mark.....he had about 2 quarts of oil in the car, maybe 2.5. Just because the oil says you can do it....doesn't mean you can.If they told you to jump off a bridge...would you? Save the $3-5 and buy the regular Mobil1 Full Syn, not the extended.
I have an 03 and the manual says to use Mobil 1 synthetic 10W-30 but then I received the amendum stating 5W-30 is reccommended. I had the dealer do my first couple oil changes until I realized they were using Quaker State Synthetic Blend 15W-40. Idiots.
Now I do my own oil changes every 3,000 miles using either Mobil 1 or Lucas Synthetic 5W-30. Lately I've been using the Lucas. It's only a few cents more than the Mobil 1 and it contains the Lucas oil stabilizer. Seems pretty good. And I don't see why Castrol Syntec would be bad. I used to put castrol in my old 95 neon all the time.

Your 95 Neon could run forever on Castrol Syntec with no problems. However the 2.4 turbo engine in the SRT-4 puts a much bigger demand on the oil, especially in how it stands up to the heat a turbo engine produces. Dino oils or dino blends break down much faster than full synthetics under high temp operating conditions. There's a reason Dodge recommended full synthetic, and it wasn't because they own part of Mobil.....

[sm=badbadbad.gif]It gets mighty hot in our 2.4L engines!!!!!
Just got mine changed at 3350 miles and it looked kinda bad and smelled burnt[:@]
It just kinda surprised, but I guess with all the winter warm-ups and winter driving
it was to be expected, also put on the Purolator Filter (with Fiberglass filter element)
and check valve(built in)so I dont starve the oil pump at start-up...just to be safe

Oh yes it does. I put a 180 T-stat in to take the temperature down a notch, I wasn't feeling the needle above 200 as often as it was. Normal operating temperature can be up to 230ish! Yeah....no. I usually run the Mopar filter, but this time I bought the Mobil 1. It was like $2 extra, surprisingly I didn't get raped on it.
