Default exhaust/engine light

I was wondering if doing a cat-back exhaust would make the check engine light come on, or if it would prematurely burn out either of the O2 sensors ?

No it shouldn't. But if you replaced the cat with a straight downpipe that would cause a P0420 Catalyitic Converter Inefficiency code.

My car is Stage 2 and I am getting ready to do away with my cat. Will I get the code you mention? Someone else said previously that the S2 ECU doesn't check. Thanks for your help.

Is there any way to fix it, or do I have to re-install my cat for inspect?

You will pass emmissions with or without a cat and be code freewith a staged PCM

I thought you will fail emissions with a staged PCM becuase it throws a skim Key Code

Yea but i thought some states would not pass you if you have engine codes showing. Just something to look into. Thank God Michigan doesnt have emission testing

Even if your state is that strict, you can go to the dealership and have the SKIM re-programmed, which is a good idea anyways for security purposes
