Default Tranny Problem, Please HELP :s

Hihi, it's been a while since I posted, missed you guys, and you PSI Chick ;*

Well, I have a problem...

I was coming from the annual festival we have here in Iceland, called "Cardays". Drifting, Drag racing, Burnouts, Carshows and more stuff. And I turned into a roundabout, few moments before I had fail-shifted. When I was turning out of the roundabout, I downshifted to second gear, pretty hard, and the 2nd gear wouldn't work, so I changed gears and nothing happended. Engine just reved up

So,

1. If I put my SRT-4 into gear, nothing happens.

2. If I try to put it in 1-3 or 5 gear, it ends up in Neutural and I can move it around the area where N-1-3-5 are, but if I put it in, 4th gear or R, it stays there. Doesn't get all the way into second gear but I was trying really hard to get it into second and after about 15min I got it in and drove it for 5min, staying in 2nd, and then it popped right out again. Didn't get it in again. In 4th gear and R it makes a small ratteling noice, but very silent.

3. I'm not sure what's happening, but could it be the "shift linkage" or what ever you call it? Or might it be the gearbox?

4. There was no oil under the car!

Sorry for my bad english grammar, getting a littlebit rusty

My Mods are few... Shortshifter and some tailights and ****.

Well, it souds like the gears are not engaging so it could be the linkage, or more likely, you may have snapped the gear selector pin on the shifter. I've heard of that happening to a few people. You may also want to take note of the condition of your clutch, synchros, and shift forks.

My clutch is stock and the car has 23.000 miles on it. Syncros were always good

mine did that and i busted the imput shaft. either way, sounds like you need a rebuild.......

check the cables first though, maybe one of the bushings popped off. i doubt it, but it's worth checking out.

Thank you so much you guys, and PSI Chick ;*

The car is at the "dealers" if you can even call it that, the dealer dosn't even have parts here And no parts available in europe, so everything needs to be ordered from the USA by the dealer and takes up to 3-4 months to get. I crashed mine in the beginning of February, and just got it this Thursday (12.06.08) :S and then this happens!

Oh well, I will post here the problem when we figure something out. And please, keep on posting regarding this issue :*

Well, you could try getting a Mopar or aftermarket Short Throw Shifter and install it. Make sure the linkage is connected properly. See what happens. Hopefully it's not the input shaft. It's not too likely to be the synchros being that you had problems with all those gears at once. Usually when its the synchros it will be the 2-3 synchro to act up first, causing grinding when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It could be a problem related to shift forks, but I'm not sure.

I would at least pop off the center console and get a look at that shifter and pray its only a busted gear selector pin. Then, like I said, order a STS. You could install it yourself or have a friend or local shop do it quickly and easily.

This wasn't the shifting linkage or the cables. If this is the "fork" if you call it that, what can I do? Do I have to have another gearbox or can I fix this?
