how did GSR beat SRT-4?
The problem is that I would love to belive that it was an sxt. I drive an rx-8 that runs even with this gsr from a roll and beats it from a stop (No the gsr is not spraying, built, or boosted). I would love to believe it was a boosted sxt or something like that but it wasn't.
It had the srt-4 motor, hood, wing, seats, boost gauge, shifter, wheels, etc. I have done some research on srt-4's and sadly it was. The guy went in 2nd gear at 40mph and the gsr pulled away. The way the race played out time and time again my rx-8 (i/e) would have pulled at least 2 cars on the srt-4 and that is SLOW! This worries me because my girlfriend is looking at buying an srt-4 and my reaction was great, finally some power. But after this I am thinking twice. We will probaly still get an srt-4 because it is still the fastest for the price. This disappoints me but I will just have to go drive an srt-4 for myself and hopefully it will be what I was expecting.

Look you can add, subtract, divide whatever numbers you want the point is the GSR is my friends and all it has is header, exhaust, and CAI. Its not spraying, not boosted and has no motorwork to it. One of our friends was riding with the guy in the SRT4 and he said the guy wasnt a bad driver. It was an SRT4 we had him pop the hood. From a 40mph roll (2nd gear) the gsr was abt to walk 2 cars then the SRT4 caught him and when they went into 3rd exept this time the SRT4 did not come back and lost by about 2 1/2 mabe 3 cars.
Let me straighten a few things out, i just read all of yalls comments for the first time since the original post, a friend of mine posted the topic about his rx-8 using my name. Okay to tell u the truth im a Honda fan i actually drive a civic and my brother is the one with the Gsr. Now i might love hondas and all but that doesnt mean i think that his gsr would beat an srt-4, i mean it should have walked away.
Although the gsr should have gotten beat it did not in the first set of runs. Whether the problem was the weight, bad driver in srt-4 or whatever i dont know that is why i ask. So specifically posthondaremoval please stop telling me im lying i posted this as a question not as bragging rights.
As for the times you have been posting, they seem correct for the a stock gsr mid to low 15's in quarter but we raced from 40mph not from a stop so 0-60 has not a damn thing to do with it. Now for the times you post on the srt-4, that is the biggest bunch of BS in the world. I understand that they are much faster than a gsr but low 14's is all an srt-4 will do. Quit running your mouth like its a damn evo or sti cause it aint and that is why they cost 15grand more, i mean low 13's is a dream for a stock srt-4 driver. One last thing to take into consideration is that all cars dont run like the factory based statistics some run better some worse.
Lastly for the statement that it was an sxt is absurd. Jayster05 knows me personally and he will tell you straight that his neon which is a base 02 neon (same as sxt motor wise) can come nowhere close to keeping up with a gsr.
Just to let you know i posted this originally as a question not to start a war between dodge and honda. But if thats how some of you take it too bad.

I've personally seen a stock SRT-4 run a 13.6 at the track. Now not low 13's, but he isn't exactly a professional driver either.
But don't get me wrong, I greatly doubt any stock SRT-4 will run 13.1's stock.
As for the Low 14's is all it will do, thats absurd as well. Perhaps the average joe driver that just jumped into the car and took it down the track will run 14.1's - 14.3's. But mid-high 13's is what the 04's and up are rated as in every magazine I have picked up.

i can not even begin to imagine how a gsr beat an srt-4 i can't even fathome that it's just not posible [sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif]
ive never seen a stock srt-4 hit a 13 without the help of slicks. and i for one also think those numbers are bull the best i was able to pull stock wise was 14.3 on 91 octane. i honesty dont know how people pull these number ethier. i know i dont drive bad in fact i drive better than most considering i been racing NASA/SCCA for a few years and been draging scince i was 16. ive seen bone stock GS-R run 15.3 and that was the best ive ever seen in cali. every srt-4 in cali seems to run mid 14's to 15 sec 1/4s i was able to pull 13.8 with turbo back and that was at best i was beating stage 1 cars with catbacks and wastegates with drag radials. car and driver i belive it was has hit the most reasonable time in a srt-4 and it was like a 14.5 at like 99mph but as far as there 13.8 second times on the stock tires is bull. i think people just say those times just beacuse a mag says it can do it ive yet to see it. i have a video of CMI in sacramento with about 13 srt-4 and the only 1 to break low 13's was the stage 2 with drag radials every one else with the stage 1's was hit high 13's and all the other bolt ons was hiting low 14's and some of the 03 where in the 15's. i have stage 2 w/o toys/fmic/short ram/turboback/msd wires and i dought ill be hiting better than 13.3 on street tires.

ACTUALLY, I said:I just don't see this happening. Either the srt-4 couldn't drive and the driver of the gs-r is amazing, or it was an r/t with a little work, or this is a bit of an untruth. That is one of 3 options. If you chose to focus on that one - that is your choice and I would think about why.

You are the only one fighting this war - you sound like George Bush. I personally(since you have made it that way) like Honda a lot. The last car I owned was a Honda.

Do not take on a nasty tone with me - I would be glad to get mean, fella, but I chose not to. Especially not on this forum, as people here have some respect.
You started out this thread with the title, "how did gsr beat srt-4?" we are all just trying to answer the question. Turns out, in this instance, that generally, it can't.
You even have a lot of misinformation in your replies. Do some research, and sound a little smarter. If you want to flame my response get your flammable medium right, or you will burn yourself. [sm=chairshot.gif]
Oh ye of little faith. Just because you have'nt seen something doesn't mean it's not real. I beleive your telling the truth. You mentioned you were from Cali, is that right? If so, there's the problem, your gas sucks, I mean 91 octane, come on! Plus you probably got some extra smog equipment. Back here in good ol Indiana, I run at least 93 and can even get 94 octane from the pump for 5 cents more. Stock I was running 13.9's all day long at different tracks even. Now I have stage 2 with out toys and the Mopar exhaust and run a best of 13.47 at 105 on the stock tires. Granted I consider myself a good launcher but these cars are hard to get out of the hole. I even pulled a car length out of the hole an a staged SRT with slicks. These cars seem to have a lot of top end. If only I could run at the strip from a roll I know it would be much faster. More of a true street time.
