how did GSR beat SRT-4?
Friday night i was with my brother in his integra gsr, it is basically stock just i/h/e and a gutted cat just to let you know. A dude in a completely stock blue srt-4, i think he had a short shifter and a blow off valve, asked us to run him. We said okay figuring we would lose, but we told him he had to ride our friend in his car to give us a little advantage. So just my brother and i were in the gsr and he had our friend plus two of his own, which made 4 people in his car. We got on the interstate and ran them about 4 or 5 times. Every time when we took off in second(from 40mph) we killed him, we would jump ahead by 2 cars almost instantly and he would hang through third and when it was over we would have about 3 cars on him. We stopped and put our friend (who said the dude drove good) back in our car, and did it again about three or four times and he (srt-4 dude) beat us by about three cars each time in the same way that we had been beating him. I dont get why this would happen but have any of you heard of an srt-4 that couldnt beat a GSR integra. Do you think the dude sprayed on us?
i dont know....i was under the impression that the GSRs were boosted..maybe im thinking of a different model..i know that last summer..i rolled up on, what appeared to be a normal integra, and we both jumped on it from a roll, around 35mph...i heard him downshift, and i heard a BOV...i realized that i was in trouble when, at about 50 miles an hour, he was smoking the tires....and still pulling on me...[&o]
It has 170hp stock his might have plus 10 with the bolt ons but no it isnt boosted. Honda doesnt have any boosted stock cars. His gsr has 1.8L dohc vtec motor, b18c1 if you know hondas, it is also known as one of the best honda motors but i still dont see how it beat an srt-4 the guy said it was prolly the weight issue with us only having two people during the first few runs and adding our friend on the second set of runs is what killed us, but adding a 150lb. friend should not have changed the race that dramatically. How much boost does a stock srt-4 run and is their a way to change from low to high boost on a stock srt4?
Weight makes a big difference. I've had someone ride in my car in the 1/4 mile and I'm usually about 2 tenths slower with someone riding then when I drive by myself. So if the SRT4 had 2 more people then the integra that would be almost half a second of a disadvantage the SRT4 is at. Plus, I don't know how much Integras weigh compared to the SRT4....so weight is probably what made the difference.

2667 lbs and 128 lb ft of torque @ 6500rpm- maybe 140 with his mods(0-60 in 7.2 sec. with a good driver)(horsepower 170 @7200rpm); vs 2900 lbs and 250 lb ft of torque @ 2200 rpm (0-60 in 5.2 seconds with a good driver)(horsepower 230 @ 5200 rpm).
These cars are on two different planets, in terms of acceleration performance. The Integra posts a 15.6 at 89 mph in the 1/4 on a very good day, vs. 13.8 at 103.5 mph on a good day for the srt-4. I have owned hondas, driven many integras, and been mesmerized by the power delivery of the srt-4 in comparison.
There is no way that an Integra gs-r with head, int, exh, can run like that. You are not going to flip 6 car lengths by switching one person, either. Even the Type R would be hard pressed to accomplish what you describe and it ran 6.74 in the 0-60 , and 15.31in the quarter at 94.00 mph.
This sounds a little fishy to me.
a couple of tenths of a second, half of a second...i don't care, the weight difference does not make up for a 1.8 second discrepancy in the 1/4 mile.
Even turbocharged, the integra is hard pressed to beat an srt-4. The car is running 10.0:1. In fact, I would say, if the car was a turbo it would probably have turned out like you describe.
I just don't see this happening. Either the srt-4 couldn't drive and the driver of the gs-r is amazing, or it was an r/t with a little work, or this is a bit of an untruth.

when running under a 15 second quarter mile...100lbs=1 tenth of a second.
(this is a generally accepted idea...not some law of physics...so dont waste your time arguing with me..

So let's say that the SRT-4 is running 450 lbs heavier than stock with one driver(plus 3 passengers at 150 lbs ea.). These numbers coorespond to your claims, neonster. That should slow it down by .450 seconds. The integra has One extra passenger so it is 150 lbs above stock. so it should be .150 sec slower. The SRT-4 should run 14.25 seconds in the quarter, and the GR-R should run 15.75.
We have a 1.5 second difference here. Now, PLEASE, show me the intake, header, and exhaust set up that will achieve this. A 1.5 second difference is HUGE.
