If you buy directly from the original owner instead of from a second owner or off a lot, you'll at least get an impression of what the person's like. Not everyone flogs their car mercilessly every chance they get.

As long as it's mileage is fairly low and it still has the factory warranty, go for it.

As with any used car, do a little research and you will be fine

You should be able to find one that hasnt been doged out. Look for one that is still stock w/ low mileage like mine is. It would be beneficial if the previous owner at least put a catch can on early in the cars life to reduce the build up of oil in the intercooler system. Anyway you should expect to pay more for a car in better condition.

I have a Silver 2004 SRT-4 , sunroof, Stage 1 turbo upgrade, tinted windows, silver band with SRT-4 on windshield, showroom condition. 10400 miles. Still quialifies for new car bank interest. Never abused, never raced. Wired for XM radio. Got to sell it. Know anyone interested. It's in Montana. Original owner!!

The condition of the car will give you clue as to how it was driven. For example if it has low miles and a new set of tires, there's a good chance the owner drove the hell out of it. Ask the owner if he has a record of all the oil changes, people who keep records like that rarely abuse their vehicles......
