How do I Burnout?
You definitely don't want to do an extended burnout on KDW II's. Their optimum temp is around 80 degrees. Anything north of that and you lose traction for sure. Just a quick blip to clean 'em is right - like psichick said.
On the street, the most important thing is to just go for it when doing burnouts for show. If you hesitate or hold back, that is when you have problems. 5000 rpm's is a lot easier on the car than 3000, when it breaks loose, because the traction is overcome much more quickly. But why would you want to roast 600-700 dollars of tire, anyway.

71rr, have you had slicks on the RR or no? with the hoosiers, the mirada will yank straight and i can even get a little bounce in the sueprstocks if i stop past the box with hot slicks and stomp it..but thats more of a mustang things to do,...lol
Not yet I haven't, just regular street tires so far. I really want to get a set of Centerlines, I'm torn between the Warriors and the Convo Pros, wraped with BF Goodrich drag radials, shown here on the right and below on my dad's Charger.

hmm..comp ta's...i was gonna go with those, because ive heard great things about the grip...but my hoosier QTPs bite just as wel as any BFG, and i get more wear out of them...my last set lasted me over a full season, and id say i make at least 5 runs a week last year, with the national series weeks yielding at least 15 runs a week...ill never stray from hoosier..
71rr, you have some better shots of your dads charger dont you? turbopowered, ive seen it in person, and that picture does it very little justice...
Ok guys, I tried doing a burnout, and the tires hop a little at first, but stopped when they broke loose from the pavement, but afterwards, i noticed a weird smell, i couldnt determine if it smell like burnt brake or what, I am afraid that it was my clutch....
Has this ever happend to you guy, what could it be?
Thanks
Andrew

Nah, i smelled that as well, but it was a different smell, and it lingered, my car still smelled when I got home, i did not let up on the clutch real fast i did it a little faster than when I am driving, do you think that is what happened... I just didnt let up fast enough.
