Cobalt SS & Motor Trend
Well at least they are not doing what Ford did......Mustang 5.0. Never was a 5.0. Always was a 4.9. Also the rated 220bhp for the 96 FI 302 was actually 205bhp. Then the recall on the early Cobras because they were not putting out the rated hp. Amy, I know you like Fords too, but I couldn't resist.....sorry. For the record, I always liked the GT with the 302 motor.

I wil admit that the svt cobras are real nice, and they are doing something to change their historical approach to power figures... with the new mustang GT...
ill take my good ole 87 turbo rex over a rx-8 any day. rx-7 have always been about the flywheel hp tho. the 3rd gen are rated at 255hp but when you run them on the dyno they only produce 200whp.
This is so freaky ! My brother bought a Black Cobalt SS 4 days ago ( 1 week after I bought my Srt-4) NO! It will not outrun the Srt ( 0-60, 0-100, or top end) I beat my brother roughly by 3+ ( nearly 4 cars) in the 1/4 mile. and once we hit the interstate he said his fell off hard at 115 . He pulled over in the median thinking he screwed something up. They are quick from 0-40 and the intitial downshift but fall of very quick.
the fact remains that it's a supercharged 4 cylinder, the SRT will have the top-end advantage every day, simply because of the difference in induction. They're neat little cars, pretty ugly, but stock for stock, aren't in quite the same class. I'm sure the aftermarket will quickly produce some speedy instances. However, I like to think the SRT will have the advantage.

Nice car if it was a little faster; too bad.
