You should see the first gen neon that I have seen, it was turbocharged and it was a mess. The aftermarket gauges were all different, I saw tie wire holding some stuff in place and the best was a pair of locking pliers in place of one of the bolts that hold the tubo on.[sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]I don't know if it was done that way on purpose or not, but it looked like crap and it probably ran like a raped ape.

Trust me, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I wish I had a camera with me, so everyone could enjoy. It was at the Mopar Nationals, white and had turbo intercooled decals on the sides of the car.

the ceramic coating, so i've been told, will pervent heat for the engine to effecting the intercooled air before it enters the combustion chamber. i guess that could categorize it as a performance part.....but just to be safe i'll wait for the modern performance guys to put one in the project cars and dyno with it to see if the cost of the part is worth the inherited performance increase. i know from their dyno runs, the k&n cai is worth picking up (10+ hp and 10+ torque).

I will just wait for a ported and polished intake manifold that I know will give worth while gains. I hope Indy hurrys up and makes an intake manifold for the SRT-4's.[sm=smiley4.gif]

You don't have to be any more careful than you are right now. The CAI kits run to the same spot that the stock intake set-up does, the only difference is that with the CAI the filter itself will be in the fender whereas the stock set-up has the filter in the air box. So if the stock set-up won't suck up any water, neither will the CAI kits and vice versa, if one does so will the other.[sm=smiley2.gif]
