Default mopar intake manifold

on the street essentials catalog, they display a ceramic coated intake manifold for the srt-4, any word when it will be released? any ideas on the price? what would be the advantage of this mod? (looks like a bling item vs. a "true" performance part) anybody out here going to get it?

I agree on the "bling" part. Kinda like powdercoating your valve cover, looks cool but doesn't make your car go any faster...[sm=smiley4.gif]

Yeah i think its bling, bling to. But im sure it looks sharp. check with modernperformance.com, think they have some in stock and can give you a price. since mopar never will. AGH....wish Mopar would get off there asses and ship my stage 1 anti-sway bar, performance springs, and stage 3 coil overs.[sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley35.gif][sm=smiley7.gif]

Since I don't have the time to "do" shows, I pass on most cosmetic upgrades...I DO wash my SRT-4 every other day, and as you know living in Texas, it can rain at any time. Heck, it's been raining here for 3 weeks....[sm=smiley13.gif]

Looking at mine today, while regapping the new plugs, the corrosion of the valve cover makes me want to get it coated. I live near the water, and park by the bay (maybe 200 yards away), the moist atmosphere is killing me

I was at .45, got some breakup on accelleration, dropped it to .42, we'll see. The stockers were at .50 - .55 when I pulled them and dropped the gap to .45, about 6 months ago. I got the NGKs to replace the stock Champions. It was breaking up bad. The NGKs stopped that for a week or so, just started breaking up again. If this smaller gap does not work well, I'm going to try new wires.

Yeah i know what you mean there, i'm next to the water myself, and its salty. My antenna and base has already rusted. Pulled all the sway bars, lower a suspension parts off and painted them flat black so hope that will slow it down some. My valve cover looks horrible, its like corroded and grayish looking now, no shine to it anymore, but i heard that modernperformance.com in houston has the painted valve covers in stock, have to go up there an check it out one day.

Sounds like you need some MSD Super Conductor plug wires. BTW does anyone have MSD's parts #'s for the SRT-4's wires and coil? Are they the exact same as the 1st gen Neon 2.0L DOHC?
