Default New SRT-4 on the streets

Well today I got back to the dealer and had to vomit. I just descided to spend $22,600 on an SRT-4. [X(]

Anyway, Got a black srt-4, with sunroof, the viper racing seats, and the Kicker (something) Stereo system. Oh ya, and instead of in 8 weeks, I'll have it Monday!!!!!
They had the first SRT that lot is selling coming on a truck today, but it was late
So I will have to just wait till tuesday morning to go pick it up. Time to start going out and buy mods!!.. Oh gods.. I dread the insurance.

Congrats!!!!!!!!! Remember, as Uncle Owen(?) said, "With great power, comes great responsibility"

Anyway, have fun!!!!! A bit about the Kicker system. This is not just some parts bolted in. Kicker was right there. The headunit in Kicker equipped cars gets a special flash to tweak the sound levels for those speakers in the SRT-4. There's a Kicker rep over in the SRTforums, he mentioned hours spent adjusting audio stuff (which I'm too damn gearheaded to understand ) to make it work just right.

List is
All speakers replaced with Kicker ones.
An integrated Amp/Sub unit custom made to bolt right into the trunk, drivers side, that empty space behind the wheel well
All wiring, which is plug and play
A six disc CD changer, which mounts in that odd slot WAY at the bottom of the center console, the one with the funny fabric strip across the front.
Of course the flash of the head unit.

From the way I've heard it explained, if your an audiophile, this won't be it for you. If you are anything less than an audio nut, it will rock your world. I would do it, but stuff that don't make me faster has to wait til after Stage 3 get's in

BTW, 03s and 04s that did not come with it can buy it from Mopar. Plug and play, except for the headunit flash, which the dealer does, I think.

Yup, I've shopped around and nobody is cheap on a SRT-4. It doesn't do any good saying it's just a Neon either. They know better based on the VIN....[:@][:@]

Tomorrow I'm gonna check around on insurance. What should I expect to pay per month? I'm nearly 23, driving almost 7 years without a wreck or a ticket, or any other blemish on my record.

If you're a male and under 25, you're gonna pay A LOT. They look at a variety of things as well as your driving record, like how many miles you drive per year and even your credit rating. Car alarms, defensive driving courses, and anti-theft devices like glass etching will help a little. Get several different quotes and see who offers the most for the least money...[sm=smiley6.gif]

Dusty is right on the mark! I learned all about that in my insurance class, plus if you have a higher deductible it can lower your premium significantly.

So how much is A-LOT? $250 a month.. $300 a month? $350? $400?
I will be Pissed if the insurance is more than the car payments.
Extremly pissed.

Well, I pay close to $250 every month for 10 months out of the year. My company is USAA, one of the top rated insurance companies around and known for it's "fair rates".
I'm probably twice as old as you are and haven't had a ticket since 1976...are you getting the "drift" of my message? Personally, I don't see how younger drivers afford the insurance cost. Maybe mom and dad help out....

I'm 28 with a clean record and my insurance on my SRT-4 is $1,409.00 a year full coverage. This is with a multi-car discount too. My Roadrunner is only $336.00 a year liability. And $150.00 added on for uninsured/underinsured for bodily injury, for a grand total of $1,895.00 a year for both.
