I stumbled on this forum via Google quite by accident.
It was kind of a "knee jerk" ~ "banging your funny bone" reaction from a Type -A personality
after reading the first three posts of this thread bashing my beloved RX8...
Still not an excuse for my statements here.
To "Danny" aka "bigddy9",
I know its too late to apologize to you for being such a "butt-munch".
I've been searching my area for an SRT-4 to "kill"...
I haven't found one yet [:@].
I'm sure eventually I'll find one...
even if I have to test drive one from my local Dealership.
Claims without proof are like saying you have a twelve-incher....

(just an example, please don't submit a pix
)
So "bigddy9", when I do find a Neon, I'll video tape my adventure and post it here (win or lose).

Seriously, apology accepted. Come springtime, I will be racing the above mentioned RX-8 again (we always seem to stop at lights next to each other after our softball games). I will do my best to video one of our encounters and post it here.

I'm glad to see that you have turned out to be someone that isn't here just to flame. I'm guessing by your attitude that your RX-8 isn't exactly stock, because if it is stock and you run against an SRT-4, stock or not, with a driver that has a clue how to drive it, then your gonna get a look at the only part of the car that has it's nameplate. I have watched stock SRT-4's running mid-high 13's, but then again I've even seen one where the driver must not have a clue as to how to drive run a hideously low 15.[:'(] On average with the average SRT-4 owner they run low 14's stock. I've also seen some with very few mods running low 13's and even high 12's.

I have my Greddy Turbo (@ 6lbs) installed and am in the process of tuning (darn CEL).
I've done an exhaust upgrade too.
Hope you guys don't mind if I visit your forum every once in a while...

) was jokingly talking crap about his recently purchased 97 M3. Which, stock for stock, might have a good shot. But since I had Stage 2 already then, it didn't.Him: Hey, when we gonna run, so you can look at the mighty M symbol.

Poor kid, not long after that, on his bald tires (due to some really bad rear alignment) he took a corner fast, took a ride on the median pony, which had 12 inch granite curbs[:@]
3.5K insurance bucks and 1 month later, he just got it back. He had to sell the $600 catback exhaust along the way.

I think the regular Neon looks like crap, but the SRT-4 has a meaner look to it and doesn't look like a car my grandma would drive. (she has a reg neon for everyday driving) She's not a "freak sex" driver...just an old one

How about I race you in my truck?? A car can beat a truck all day long right? I have a real truck and love to run. It may not be the fastet, but to each thier own. There is always someone faster!!!!

First, lets' discuss "real" cars. And "real" drivers.
"Real drivers" enjoy cars, whichever kind. All cars have good points and bad. Except Chevettes. Hell, I even enjoyed a drive in a Yugo once.
"Real drivers" generally modify thier cars for greater performance. I submit your mod list.
Polished Rotary Accents, Mazda Seatcovers, Aero Flares, RX-8 Pillar Trim, Door Edge Guards, Momo Shifter, 3rd Brake Light Mod.

Where's "your area"? I'm almost sure I could find you somebody to play with. Or you could follow this years One Lap of America, the one put on by Car and Driver. See how many RX-8s have been top finishers in their class, or even in the top 20. How about SCCA Prorally? Or maybe SCCA Solo II. Find me a place where the RX-8s out compete the SRT, except maybe a car show.
Me beating one wouldn't be a fair fight, most likely not even a blown one. so I'll leave that be. But your not accomplishing anything, besides making yourself look sad.

I have been to the track. With my original mods I was running 13.3 to 13.4. I have switched from a 2# lower to a 4# lower and a new tune and added a CAI. All other mods have remained the same. I haven't been able to get to the track. Why would you assume SAR?

Becuase you posted asking if folks were going to SAR? Like I ask about MIR here And no I have not had my car to the track since I put Stage 3 on, stock clutch would freaking vaporize DAmn, just remembered, I was going to see if somebody could pick me up some racefuel[:@]
