So I assume your not from Texas. i could pick you up some fuel if you lived in SA. There is no Lightning club here in San Antonio. I would love to get a few guys together.....no matter what the car/truck. Bottom line is we all like vehicles that "go fast" I need a support group here in SA. It seems as if people aren't that involved here. I live..breath and sleep my truck. Why can't we all just get together and talk about MODS!!! It's all the same. I'm not one of the Lightning people that think "I'm better" I just want to have fun and talk about cars/trucks. Is that all that bad??

 

That's neat, because you would have to be going the other direction or running in reverse to see it.

That is also why I said if the RX-8 is stock, I know what the rotary engine is capable of.

Slap a turbo on anyone of those two cars and they'll blow your doors off.

Better yet .... race the Rx8 or 350Z on the track and you'll see what happends to your NEON . 350 and Rx8 are not stright line cars. They're built for a different purpose rather then stright line.

Any car with a turbo is good on a stright line.

and at the end of the day ..... it's still a neon ...

i've had the option of test driving the srt and was really disappointed with the performance on turns.

 

I'm sure we have all seen the video of a little 115 HP Fiat (I think thats what it was... looked like a hatchback ford focus to me) outrunning the top end EVO VII from a 30 MPH roll. Both were in their highest gear(5th) and took off on a 30 MPH roll on a 1.7mile airstrip the EVO VII never caught it, and was beat quite horribly. Why? Because without the power from it's turbo it wasn't accelerating much faster than a kid on his bicycle. So sure without our turbo the SRT-4 wouldn't be what it is.

Thats like saying slap a few grand work of suspension and other various handling mods on an SRT-4 and it will blow an RX-8's doors off on a road course (of course I'm taking that by "track" you mean't road course). Their not in the same category of production/preformance, so the only comparison you can offer is a stock to stock comparision. When it comes to comparing apples and oranges you can't go throwing a few thousand dollars worth of mods on a car and saying... well now I can outrun you. You could go buy an old muscle car and pump money into it, pay less than what we did for our cars and be running 11sec quarters easy. But of course for the category our "neons" are in, thats not a viable preformance comparasion.

So yes, in a 1/4 mile we will blow 350z's RX-8's doors off all day long. But a road course may be a different story. Since the mini-muscle SRT-4's are straight line cars anyway. But you expected us not to know that it wasn't made stock to blaze through road courses? Thats like buying a miata for it's sheer power in straight line drag.

 

hey glhs how does the stage 3 feel compared to the stage 2?
