i know...i'm so jealous of you guys and the autobahn....

 

I've been in around a dozen different cars at speeds of 140-175mph. It's a rush. Most of those cars were in Germany and on the Autobahn, but I've been in a couple of cars here in the USA that have been up to that mark.

My buddies 454 Camaro that is blown and NOS....got it up to 175 on I-35 in Texas....that....was intense...

 

Yes I did do it in Nebraska. I-80 is such a wonderful sight, he's not lying. You just go and go and go. There is however one spot (I've been out there way too many times) that is flat and straight and you can see for about a mile ahead of you pretty clear. That's where I did it, and it just happened, I just kept going faster and faster, the only thing out there is that you have to watch out for the semi's. You can't ever tell if they are going to stay in their lane or get pissed at you for flying by them.

I don't remember the RPM's. I was a little nervous, and when I did let off the gas, it was like a wall. I probably won't do it again around my little town anytime soon, but it was a rush. I haven't gotten a chance to take my car out to the track yet, so this was definately a first on this car. !!!

 

Just last week I was on I-95 heading down towards the southern half of RI, when a tractor trailer truck was trying to run me off the road. SURE pick on the neon. I was scared ****less so I called the state police and asked them what to do. I was in the high speed lane and the truck was right on the side of me. I didnt know those things could MOVE that fast. At 115 he was right beside me. So the car in front of me moved away and the cop said "step on it till you can't see him anymore". From exit 2 in RI to exit 92 in CT I was doing about 145-150 steady.

Fastest Ive gone since my accident over a year ago.....and goddamn was I scared. BUT! The cop told me to do it! How fkn cool is that?!

 

Tractor trailers can easily do the 120mph range....depending on how heavy they are loaded....

Most cops will tell you to speed when it comes to a semi....as they would rather see you get out of their way and not have to clean up a wreck. My grandfather and uncle were both truckers....and they used to the cross country runs. They'd tell me all kinds of crazy stories about idiots racing by them.

Hey spk plug, ever see the movie where the tractor trailer trucks surround the diner and trap all the people? I think it was him!!!!

I will say this, I have hit 164 on my Yamaha R6, I was not a nervous as I was in the SRT, the sensation of speed drops off after 140mph or so on the bike.

Plus I can hit that speed twice as fast on the bike, so less time to realize how stupid you are at that moment. LOL.

PLEASE, be careful everyone. These are small cars and I dont think there would me much left of one that went off the road at 120mph plus.

 

Movie is called Maximum Overdrive and Emilio Estevez is the lead actor.....the crazy semi with the Green Goblin face on the front was my favorite...

 

The best part was when the trucks 'demanded' to be re-fueled or everyone would die...[sm=icon_rofl.gif]
