So on the deserted way to Nebraska a few days ago, I got my car up to 145!!! Yea, fastest I have ever gotten it. Luckily there were no cops around, or I would have cried, but probably just kept on driving to out run him!!!

I've done a couple 140 bursts. I'd like to find a closed track or something that would allow for opening it up all the way like that though. I have an excellent spot for doing it but it's still public highways and jail isn't fun.

 

it must've been a very straight flat piece of road to be doing those types of speeds in winter. I hate the roads where I live because the cold weather messes up the roads and puts some nasty cracks in the ashphalt every spring and the road crews are barely able to keep up with the big ones, never mind all the tiny ones that prevent me from lowering my car too much or letting me get up to the speeds I'd like to Congrats

 

Dude! I have had the distinct pleasure of driving across Nebraska several times.[:'(] (I-80) Straight and flat don't even describe it. You can be driving down the highway and look off to the north, see a tree way off in the distance maybe 10 miles away. (there are few to no trees in parts) You'll be driving 70 mph for 20 minutes and look off to the north and there is still that same tree! It's like you didn't even move! You could have slept.
Straight and flat...........uh, yeah.
She didn't say if she did it in Nebraska, but that would be the place to do it.

 

Way cool. Just wondering what rpm you were spinning at 140mph? Does anyone know what mph 5th gear tops out? Cuz I'm one of the guys that have to wait for spring because of the roads, so I can't try it myself yet. [:@]

100 mph doesn't faze me

110 just gets my attention

120 kind makes me edgy

Been to 130 and a little over twice. VERY edgy and am sweating profusely about the head and shoulders. I wanted to get it a little faster, but the Amish wagons have destroyed most of the roads here in KY. To see 145 or greater, I don't think is now possible for me. I would be like Barney Fife behind the wheel at those speeds.

 

Gets kind of spooky around that speed huh?


look at my sig, been there once, that was spooky. The car handled well, but telephone poles look like picket fences!!!

 

i did 145 on the lie service road once, that was definetly an interesting experience! the speed doesn't bother me as long as there aren't too many other cars around. i guess i got a little used to it as i regularly do over 110 and close to 120 at the track, and i'm there so often.
