First let me say. I am lucky to be alive and I know it. I am a bonifide speed junky. I have had several motorcycles and about 14 cars and have had just about all of them topped out or close to it at one time or another. The only thing (and this is the only thing) that I miss about living in Nevada for might be just this. You could go as fast as you wanted to if you had the urge, if you didn't mind a little drive outta town. I have not had my 04 srt-4 topped, here in Mi., but did see about 148 one time between trucks on I-94. It was still accelerating but I was running out of room. I've been over 140 half a dozen times at least. I have also had the pleasure of driving the autobahn when I was in the military (Go Air Force!) flat out in a VW golf and flat out in a 6cyl Mercedes rental cars. I dont know how fast it was (a lot of klicks) but I'd guess it to be 145-ish. It was pretty fun. What was really cool there was, going flat out in your Mercedes and being passed by a little old gray haired man and his wife in thier 7 series Bimmer like you were out for a sunday stroll...No kidding! They must have been doing 165 plus. The fastest I have EVER gone was an unfortunately rpm governed 170 on my ol hotrod Kawi Ninja bouncing off the rev limiter at 11,200 rpm in 6th, at my ol top secret high desert testing facility out in Nevada somewhere north of Las Vegas. You know Las Vegas is where they learned that particular Ninja engine may be a little weak in the oiling system for the #3 main? Just a bit of trivia. So many people going flat out for extended periods of time. Anywhere else in the world those engines are considered bulletproof. Mine never failed, but I was more of a qtr miler. The most thrilling fastness I ever did wasn't really the fastest though. I had hours and hours on the seat of a bike at over 100 mph when I did it, so I was what I thought to be pretty jaded about speed, and that was the Richard Petty driving school. I did the one day course where you get to take out a cup car and do 8 laps around Las Vegas Motor Speedway. You play follow the leader with an instructor. That 1.5 mile tri-oval looks big when you are standing there, but let me tell ya, it gets tight like a toilet bowl at 150! They want you to stay 2 car lengths off his bumper and they keep going faster and faster. by the 3rd lap, you are about as fast as they will let ya go. Even at that speed, I had a lot of pedal left going down the back straight. Something you all will never know by watching a race on t.v., is there is a very noticeable but smooth bump between corners 3+4 on the low line enough to cause the whole car to 4 wheel drift about 3 ft to the right every time I hit it. My heart would start beating again somewhere around turn 1. Watch the cars closely on t.v. and you will see them hop sideways. That was a rush.
I have been very lucky.

Yeah, it's either find a good owner for it or watch it get slowly beaten to death by the sagebrush and tumbleweeds. Did I mention that my rental neon got attacked (really!) by an eagle while I was up there? There is like 3 or 4 small trees on the property and as I was leaving the location I drove under one of them. All of a sudden, this BIG brown and white colored eagle drops down on the windshield and starts clawing at it and screeching......I almost wet my pants!!!!!!!! After it flew off I got a picture of it.....you can tell it's an eagle by the wingspread.....

That is awesome, Dusty - Your car was attacked by an eagle. Bet that doesn't happen every day. I would have loved to see it in action. It must be like Wild America out there.

Yeah, I kinda got that idea when I saw the "Bison Crossing" sign a few miles up the road....it's not an area where you want your vehicle to break down in.....and a sidearm of some sort is probably not a bad idea.

To get rid of eagles, order the Terrel Owens modification kit. The Eagles won't bother you any more.

Yeah, whoever buys it will be getting a sweet car. As of now it only has 6,000 miles. By the time I move and sell it, it might have 12,000 on it. I do oil changes with Mobil 1 every 90 days. And the car stays in the garage at home and in a parking garage at work!!!

Damn! Only 6000 miles, I passed 5000 yesterday. I agree, sounds like someone will be getting a great car.
