Mopar CAI installed (pics + video)
I was going to go with the AEM but then found out Mopar got CARB approved (note the carb sticker on it) and I found a nice deal on it so I scooped it up!
Install was a complete nightmare... It seems like it'd be so damn easy and it should, but I swear nothing was going right at all. It's still not aligned the way it should be it sits too high, but apparently doesn't hit the hood that I can tell. I'm not even going to mention how long I spent puting this on today because it's rediculous.
The results are very nice though. Looks so sweet under the hood and opens up the space were the airbox used to be. It felt great on the test drive, I'll be gteching it to see if it did anything. I know theres a lot of opinions about intakes on these cars. Sound... Wow, I love this thing. Part throttle intake noise is great, and even the surge valve is mega loud.

Lookin good. One note for readers. The aem is carb certified as well. In fact the Mopar "IS" an aem.
If I might make a suggestion:
I would recommend taking the hose that connects the crankcase to the intake tube and separating the two. Put a nipple on the intake there, and a breather on the crankcase vent. As it is you will be taking oil into the turbo. On the stock airbox, the hose from the cc vent is routed to a remote sponge outside the filter in the airbox, where it can' tdo any harm. Take a look at your stock airbox: you'll see the oil. I run a second catch can and then a breather, myself, so I don' tget a mess from the breather.
I'd throw a catch can on that pcv, too, before you have a gallon of oil in your intercooler.

I thought that after I put the catch can on the PCV it was going to stop all of the oil issues. But the oil sponge in the air box is still required even with the OCC in line with the PVC? I guess it is off to home depot again...

I figured mopar would use another brand's device and sell it under "mopar"
Why haven't the engineers that designed the CAI think of the oil problem? It's a good thing I find out about it now, thanks

That does sound good. I didn't think you had a blow off valve, but did you install one? It sure sounds like it.

And yeah I'm lagging on a catch can! That's comming up next ASAP.
I havent had mine on in almost 20k miles, and my intercooler is still bone dry. (OCC that is). I changed my PCV and all is well. How odd, my little crackbaby isnt like that. Im waiting to get the Mopar intake, simply because its Mopar and its less for the dealer to bitch about, and on top of that its a CAI and I have an SRI.
Nice choice!
