Default Important Questions Big Turbo

So, im thinking on rebuilding my engine so i can garantuee life when i finish my big turbo setup. I have couple questions that i would like you guys to answer if you guys know. Thanks alot.

1.) How much power can stock buttom end (pistons and rods) hold on big turbo and properly tuned.

2.) What stage computer is recommended for big turbo and high horsepower?

3.) What do you guys think of this rebuild kit? http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx..._rebuild.shtml

4.) How much HP can Eagle Rods Hold (well tuned)

5.) Am i asking too many questions?

I have no idea. However, if I were going that route I'd probably contact eagle about the rods and they will probably be asking things like are they going on a stock crank? How many r's you planning on turning? Nitrous? How much do the pistons weigh? etc., etc.

BTW, dont all the Mopar stage computers limit rpms to 6500? That might be a hinderance to power above a certain level, but that alone will do a lot to help the bottom end live, and if you decide that's going to be the limit, it will help you in the selection of all the other parts.

I am also thinking you will have to go with a stage 3.

Amy, how well is eagle compared to crower, or pauter? Would it be worth paying just a little bit extra to have the peace of mind that the rods can handle more than what the engine is capable of? I've heard from others that eagle rods are no better than stock rods. IMO why would stock rods cost about the same as eagle rods... Cheaper material ? less material ? Different process.... Eagle's website sux not much information about their products; i ask and question this because dominicansrt is like my brother ... scratch that... he's my brother ! besides i want the best information for the benefit of everyone; it sucks to have to pay damn near 2k for all this and then some cheap 350.00 rods decide to crap out... You know what i mean ?

i definetly know what you mean. i don't have direct experience with eagle, so i can't say one way or the other. i do know some people that are using their rods and they haven't had a problem yet. some of them are pushing big numbers too (450hp+), and there's been no issue. but then again, i know people with the same amount of power running stock rods.

overall, the eagle seem to be the most popular rods to use, and i haven't heard any complaints about them yet.......

Amy; on the subject of ecu's. Do any let you turn more than 6500 rpm? If not, is there a piggyback system for doing so? Not that this is a good idea with the stock crank, but being able to spin higher rpms will open the door to higher horsepowers eventually. What are the highest rpm's anybody with a 2.4 has turned? I realize this is a question to only be seriously pondered by the elite (and rich) among us.
