Yep you heard right, it's up for sale. In the state of Colorado, we have a point system for drivers license's. Too many accrued points = Probationary license, which is what I have. Well I decide after putting in my new tailights last night to go for a drive, just a nice little cruise. Long story short. . . . stupid cop says I am doing 71 in a 55, LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE. She doesn't however seem to take notice to the fact that I am on a prob. license, or the fact that I gave her the wrong, expired insurance card, or that I don't have a front license plate. She just wants to give someone a ticket. It took her over 2 miles to pull me over "from where she clocked me" although my radar detector never went off, I saw here almost 300 yards back. . . . .

Don't speed in Colorado, your insurance goes out the roof and you lose your license completely = selling of vehicle since I won't be able to drive it for a year!!

 

How is it "literally impossible"? You were speeding and if it took the cop over two miles to pull you over, you were really speeding.

I really wasn't speeding though, and there were like 4 cars that flew by me and she still pulled me over. I am gonna dispute the ticket, but that's like pulling teeth here.

If she followed you for two miles....then she should have had her lights on. Following you for 2 miles and then deciding to pull you over for speeding is a load of b.s.

I'd fight it....and I'd also talk to Dustyloins and ask him for his input.... that's just b.s.....

that's legal here for them to do. technically (at least here) they can follow you for a mile and then they're supposed to either leave you alone or pull you over, but who's going to tell them any different? i've had cops follow me for 5 miles or more and never do anything, they just stay behind me. it happens.

every state has a point system for licences, however how points are accumulated and such varies. plead not guilty, go to court, get it reduced. take defensive driving and get 4 points off your licence. i lived in colorado and got my first licence there, got a ticket and was able to plead it down just like i can here. it's not that hard. if it makes you feel better hire a traffic lawyer and they can do it for you. that seems to work better for some people, however i've never had to do that and i've always gotten tickets reduced in court.

RI doesnt have a point system at all. 3 tickets or accidents that your at-fault in a year and you lose your license for X amount of time. I guess we're the only ones without a point system.

Good luck with everything....I hope it all works out in your favor and you can keep the car. Transfer it to your moms name or something and still make payments on it but itll keep the insurance down for you.

 

well rhode island is about 20minutes big so it's easier to keep track of people!!! haha sorry i had to...it's such a tiny state!!!!
