Default Ordered the Stage 1 today...

Got the fever now, I went ahead and ordered the Stage 1 from Modern Performance for my 2004 SRT-4. The price with tax (curses!!) and delivery was 331.00....there won't be 24 hour delivery on this puppy, the expected delivery time is 3-4 weeks due to the need to "burn in" the car's VIN and mileage ( you have to estimate the mileage at the time of install). Why not the Stage 2??? Well, for me, it fits the budget....I'm dropping close to a grand on this car in just a few weeks, coupled with a "get-away" to Montana that will cost another 1K...not to mention lawyer fees for my son. I also feel it may be best to "break in" the engine on the Stage 1, skipping Stage 2, and go with Stage 3 for the long term...since I have an extended warranty, I have to take "baby steps" on this issue in order to not incur the wrath of Mamma Mopar or my local service tech....[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley4.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

Congrats!! I can't wait until you get it!! I'm thrilled for you! And sometimes you've got to spend a little money and do things for yourself, that's what money is for!! You deserve a break!

Yor're probably right, Amanda. Nothing that I've planned for "long term" has panned out the way I thought it would. Not that they have turned out bad, (many things have gone well) but it's weird the way things can change into something you would have never imagined.....Maybe that's God's way of keeping us on our toes....[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley36.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

I think that goes for the both of you, because you can't take it with you when you go. So enjoy what it can do for you in the here and now, not that saving is a bad thing, it can get you even better things. Enjoy it to it's fullest[sm=smiley20.gif]

i can't speak about the 2004, but for me the stage 1 was plenty powerful in my 2003. not that you'll have to learn to drive it again, but for me it seemed like the muzzle and lesh for my srt-4 was tossed away and the potential of this already potent car was realized. coulped with the mopar/borla exhaust, mopar bov, k&n air filter, and stage 3 coil over kit; my srt-4 not only had sprinters legs, but claws to grip the road. it's good starters choice. but after fully experiencing the stage 1, you will either be satisfied, or intrigued/scared what the stage 2 and eventually the stage 3 will do for your srt-4.

I waited until I had the "magic" 1500 miles on it and told the guy at Modern Performance to have them "burn" the mileage in at an even 2000 for the install (I only drive about 100 miles a week). I'd say you're "overdue" for Stage 1!!!!!![sm=smiley36.gif]

Hey dusty, your SRT-4 will only be up to 250 miles by the time you get your Stage 1 computer right(hint, hint[sm=smiley2.gif]).[sm=smiley15.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]
