? about install
I just installed my mopar bov. I like how it sounds but now it is only boosting 6 psi. This might be because i have a bad boost guage right now. it was boost 10-11 psi before thought. do you think i tightened the bolts down to tight because it said to tighten to about 63 in. pounds i think. I also acidently drove around the block with the air hose to the turbo off.
that never happend to me but try this! Reset the battry 1st,than if that dont work take it to the dealer and tell them what it is doing.Just dont tell them how you think it might off happend.I dont see it being because you made the bolts to tight.I Would think that would help with not having a boost leak. What did it feel like befor?Did it feel the same way as it does now?It might just be a bad boost gauge, but you did say that it just now did that.Reset it 1st then see what it does then reply back.I have a after market bov now so i dont have the mopar anymore.Maby if i did i could help more.
your turbo should be just fine if you drove it with out the intake on. compressor blades are easy to bend but i highly doubt a trip around the block will do anything.
sounds like you have a very bad boost leak. does it make a leaking/whistle sound when you boost? did you use sealant on the install?

What does your boost guage read while the car is not running? Also you might want to check to see if the gasket is not crushed or if its not centered on the BOV it will cause a leak. Check all hoses on the intake and vac. lines, could be off or loose.
