gto vs srt-4
You guys better watch out. I have seen a very stock looking LS1 GTO here running 12's with relatively minor mods like a good but full exhaust, some computer upgrades and I'm not sure what all else. It "APPEARED" pretty much stock. That was on stock rims and tires. GTO guys are very sneaky. It's in thier nature. Rare also to find a GTO that races much still stock. Now that said, I'd say if the SRT has those mods as listed and the GTO is stock LS1, not LS2, you should take him. If he has the LS2, I would not bet on it.
BTW, what kind of times can your SRT run?

I ran a 06' GTO on Friday at the track. He lauched pretty good and ended up running a 14.86. It was my first run with the new motor mounts in and I ended up running a 13.89 @ 106 mph. He was stock, maybe 6000 miles on the car.
The 2006 Charger SRT-8 does the 1/4 mile in 12.9 stock.....(edmunds.com)
The 2006 Pontiac GTO does the 1/4 mile in 13.0-13.1 depending on if your Auto/Stick.....(www.gm.com)
And since most people dont run pro times.....I'd say anything faster then a 12.9 most likely wasnt done stock.....at all....in fact...I'd call b.s. on anything faster if they are claiming to be OEM Stock...
By the way, like I stated in my earlier post....the suspensions on the GTO suck ***. These cars suffer from the same issue the Mustangs do. They have the power, but cant put it down. Slap on an aftermarket suspension however, big difference...
That's not just my opinion....thats alot of experts and GTO owners opinions as well.

Most likely, he ran a manual and missed a gear? That's the only thing I can think of......or he wasnt pushing the car past a certain speed at all......
don t no how true it is but my neighbor says his runs 13.47 stock but he wont let no one under his hood and he is usually tinkering around under there every sat. morning i beleive they are faster in stock form then us but then there is that if he is a crappy driver and the srt4 driver is a good driver situations so driver could make the biggest difference
I have a buddy with an 04 6-speed GTO. We ran 3 times one night and i was 1-1-1. About 2 weeks later i ran an automatic LS-1 GTO and smoked him. The LS-2 is a totally different beast though. I really dont think a stock SRT-4 could beat a stock LS-2 goat.

2004 Pontiac GTO LS1 5.3 13.8
2005 Pontiac GTO LS2 4.8 13.0 (GM Sales Literature)
The SRT-4's run basically the exact same times as the older LS1 version, so it's a drivers race unless either are modified. Stock vs. stock the newer LS2 version will beat the SRT-4's, unless the driver of the GTO isn't racing or is just that **** poor of a driver.
