All you really need for high 12's in an SRT-4 is a little experience behind the wheel of one and a set of slicks on the front, that's about it. As for with stock street tires, Stage 2 and your there. Getting the SRT-4 1 second faster in the 1/4 mile is quite easy and fairly inexpensive.

Not 12's. depending on your driving skills, mid 14's.

A 3" exhaust will actually be working against you unless you're pushing out at least 300 HP....[&:]

well actually what i am thinking of doing is this. the mods i told you up front are what i initially will start with but i would also like to move into a new wastegate, stg1 upgrade, and a boost controller(turn up to 18psi). although i am not sure on the boost, i am almost positive it is safe to run the car through normal day-to-day use at that rate. please feel free to share your opinion.

Before you drop big bucks into the car, seriously consider an oil catch can. There are topics on this forum that will show you how to make one for about $20....it's a MUST on a SRT-4. I was amazed how quickly mine started to fill after I installed it. Once you get it on, your engine will run better for a longer period of time and you'll get full use of those mods....[sm=smiley16.gif]

These should get you into the mid-13's if you can drive it well. The '04 SRT-4's are good for high 13's dead stock, 13.9 @ 103 MPH as tested by Car & Driver. The 3" exhaust is fine, but not necessary until you get in the 350 horsepower range, as the turbocharger is it's own backpressure and a larger exhaust will not hurt it, but it will hurt a non-turbo cars performance if not properly done.
