Are you F-ing serious??????
So my check engine light came on and it came up with the code P0038 - 02 sensor (Thanks LSP). . .
Car starts acting really weird and dies on my hubby, while he is driving to the hospital, while I am in LABOR!!! (Baby Boy!!!)
Anyway, car goes to Dodge, they tell me a rodent crawled into the engine compartment and chewed through all of the wires. Couldn't believe it!!! Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening in the future???
Thanks,
A

Damn, outside of putting it in a garage I dont know what would help. And even if its in a garage they can still get in.
CONGRATS on the baby though!!! What did you name him? How much does he weigh? How tall is he? SPILL IT DAMMIT, oh yeah and pictures too!! Please?
And let us know how you're doing as well. Once again congradulations girl!!!

Had the rodent problem in my attic, not my garage. They chewed thru the wires to the house alarm system and set it off. I got rid of them with traps baited with peanut butter.......(don't even consider rat/mouse poison with a new baby in the house!!). Congrats on the new family member!!!!!!

I've had two or three sets of MSD wires replaced due to some rodent during the cold weather getting up in there and snacking on them. They never did this to my R/T but they did it to my SRT-4. The best thing I can tell you is to lay down traps/poison and/or cover the wires in convolute tubing or when it's by the exhaust, use the thermal tubing or wrap.
71RR, I agree with you 100% except when it comes to the poison part.....there are too many ways toxic materials such as rat/mouse poison can be passed on to a newborn......just speaking from from experience from folks in the neighborhood.

Seems pretty common - I've fixed several cars with this problem, but the rats usually attack COP wiring and FI wiring. You might try putting out a few rat traps...unless you think pets or kids might get into them. Good luck.
