Default Alarm working now after 2000 miles.

When I locked my car last night, I see a red light on my instrument panel flashing. The first thing I thought of was my alarm, so I unlocked the door, rolled down the window, locked the door again with the fob, then reached in and opened the door...my alarm went off!
I have tested before to see if my alarm was working, but it wasn't. I have never disconnected my battery since I have owned the car and the dealer has never performed any work.
Could it have activated itself after a set amount of miles?

I haven't heard of this before. Sure, it's possible to program the PCM to do alot of stuff, but this is the first time I've seen this posted. Everybody else had to go thru their dealer.....I replaced my stock PCM with Stage 1 at around 1800 miles and I still have no alarm at 2300 miles, not that it bothers me.[&:]

Agreed. VERY strange. As posted, I even tested it in the past, and it didn't work.

I have hit the "panic button" by accident about 4-5 times. Hmmmm...

I've done that too!!![sm=smiley36.gif] A UPS guy was nearby the first time and told me it was the alarm going off....took awhile to figure out what it really was....[sm=smiley5.gif]

If you have a good dealer who is on top of things, they can set it to work before you take delivery of the car. Most dealers don't however. Glad to see you had one of the better ones...[sm=smiley20.gif]

yeah same here I was working since day one as well. I'm it's only because they added a DCX alarm if such a thing, but it was tied into the stock alarm and had sensors, but the dealer wanted $600 for that. I was like no way, so they took it off but they did the programing for it already and wasn't going to undo it. I got a kick *** Viper Alarm installed for $400, the one with the transmitter, so if my alarm is going off it sends a signal to my remote.
