okay recently i almost got beat by a nissan sentra. he had something to his car b/c he was able to keep up with my srt 4. when i first got my car i decided i was not going to mess around with the engin a lot and i was only going to make it look good but after this incident with the sentra i decided to make the srt 4 a little faster. my only problem is that i dont have a lot of bank. i also want to keep the car able to pass emissions cuz where i live they are strict as hell with emission laws. im kinda new with this car so please help with any ideas... thanks.

 

If you are just looking for a few extra ponies check out the stage 1 kit.

 

yea i forgot to metion, i did see the other posts about 300 hp but they included sateg kits. as far as i know the stage 1 kit uses more fuel which i was told pollutes more. thats y i want to stay away from stage kits. the only thing i know is to redo the vac lines and get a boost controller..... does that sound like it would help??

 

to put it bluntly...are you not using a stage kit because you're concnerned about emissions or because you're a tree hugger? all the stage kits pass emissions just fine. and you shouldn't be increasing boost without adding fuel anyway.....

 

ha ha ha tree huger?? hell no... im just plain concerned about passing stage kits. other ppl have told me that stage 1 kit is not legal for passing emissions.

 

none of the stage kits are epa certified to pass emissions. doesn't mean that they don't. it's all CARB's fault anyway lol.

u have s3 and ur passing emissions. do u turn down ur boost level b4 u go? anyways i live about an hr from chicago. these ppl are strict as hell. my gas cap from my prev car did not perform well so they failed me. it was my gas cap!!!!! thats how strict these motherfff are

 

no i don't turn down the boost. hell i don't even have a cat in my car, or high beams. you need to find a new shop! try looking on chicagolandsrt.com and finding where good local shops are to you. emissions is actually pretty easy now though with the obd testing.

 

what do u mean by finding a new shop? do u live around chicago?

 

no i don't live around chicago, i live in ny. i mean that if the place you went to for inspection gave you a problem over a stupid gas cap then you need to go somewhere else. there are more than one place that do inspections. try the website i gave you and see if they have better shops.
