What would I need to Turn a SRT-4 into an automatic?

BTW.... I do not at this time own a srt4

Some have said to get a wrecked Pt crusier and swap the transmissions and all the mechanics etc. shifter, wiring, computer.

How does an automatics make you slow? A properly geared auto is way faster than a manual. Can you shift in milliseconds?

 

no but all auto that i have driven has a long shift lag time

here's my two cents.....

a RACE auto can shift way faster than any human can. a regular auto is horrible. unless you're looking to run 9's or better and are willing to shell out about 3k or more for a race tranny, stick with the manual.

 

the guy doesn't even gave an srt4....and he's day dreaming about changing tranny!!!WTF!!!!!I used to hang out at forums a lot before I bought my srt4, and asked a ****-load of questions but not this dumb!!

 

come on ed...there are no stupid questions!! j/k, but think about it for real. it would be kinda neat to have an auto in a srt. youve got plenty of tourque, and the turbo from the factory spools quick enough with no lag. an auto, if geared just right!! i think that would be cool as hell. i surely dont think it would slow it down, and i for one deal with a lot of traffic, so no clutch!!! hell yeah im in! although, i have always had the philosophy that an auto isnt really a sports car...just my 10cents!
