So I am about to buy an SRT-4.

I was looking at 03' to 05' and it seems 03' and 04's have less power than 05'?

03' and 04's have 215 hp and 245 lbs. of torque...

While 05's have 230 hp and 250 lbs. of torque...Is this accurate?? I assumed they all had 230 hp and 250 lbs. of torque??

03's have 215, 04's and 05's have 230. The other difference is teh 04's and 05's come with a limited slip diff, 03's do not. Good luck with your purchase, you'll love the car.

 

ah so the 04's and 05's are the same....good. I am trying to get an 04' in red with the sun roof. I really want this car. Insurance is good, my bank is good with it now, the dealer for a trade in.

 

Depending on when your 04 was made, you may want to upgrade your plug wires. 03's and some 04's have the #4 plug wire routed too close to the turbo. Also, an oil catch can is another good idea.

yes you will love the car.. it is such a awesome car and a blast to drive... plus once you upgrade something you cant stop upgrading.. first its the catch can, then exhaust, then intake, then you probably will want to do a mopar stage and from there you'll keep going..

youll love the srt, especially for around 15k. S2 isnt all that much if you wanted to take out some extra cash for it. if the car dosent already have an occ you might want to take apart and clean out the i/c, tb and maybe the intake manifold. just an afternoon task there. anyhow, the car is an absolute BLAST to drive.

and yes, modding is addictive. sometimes when im out of money to mod, i just take stuff off and put it back on

yeah, its hard to see but the #4 (right rear) has a 90 degree bend, 03s and some early 04s did not have this and sent the wire right by the turbo. and the occ explains itself:
