Default Track day...somewhat disappointed...grr

Well I made my way out to the race track after I busted my *** studying all morning. I was hoping to break the neon into the 15s, it didn't happen. Heat might of played a pretty big factor, it was 74 when I got there. When I left it was only down to the low 60s. Anyways here are my times.

Run Time
1 16.199
2 16.057
3 16.145
4 16.433
5 16.167
6 16.229
7 16.094
8 16.184
9 16.077
10 16.086
11 16.142
12 16.052

I beat my buddy that drives a 2001 Cougar 2 times, so he can no longer call my car slow. I raced a dude in a V6 Cavy 3 times and beat him everytime. He would kick my *** off the line and by the 1/8th mark I would starting to pull on him. Don't ask me how a SOHC 2.0L motor is pullin a V6 up there, but thats what it was. I heard had to shift to 4th to finish the 1/4 mile so that could be it. I only use 3 gears. Anyways, I'm somewhat disappointed, should of had the 15.9. Next year I guess, doubt I'll be at the track again before it closes for the season.

I know what you mean. I wish I had the time to have ran my SRT-4 12 times, I might have gotten the launch down right and been into the 13's where I belong. My 4 crap runs were also in hotter 85+ degree weather and I was rolling with sweat waiting to run since you cannot have the windows down or the A/C on.[:@]

I know the car had it in it. Everytime I let the car cool down for a little bit I'd pull out a 16.0 run. I just never could let the car get cool enough before I heated it all up again. And I'm stuck on 2.2 60fts. I can pull 2.2 60fts all day and night long. Although I can launch the car pretty well, I think I can do better than a 2.2 60fts.

And yet again, I heard people saying, oh look its an SRT4 as they crowd around my car and were checking it out. I even had the hood open so they could obviously see the lack of turbo. Its amazing how many people think my car is a SRT4.[sm=dontgetit.gif]

its interesting...i run 16.1s with 60' times around 2.38-2.45, and as the motor gets hot, my times get worse, but my 60s stay about the same.

That sounds about the same for my car. I think every run I did I pulled a 2.2 something 60ft. I just couldn't crack off a better launch. I tried launching different. I'd take it a little easier off the line and I also pretty much went ***** to the wall at times and spun the **** out of the tires, still pulled a 2.2. But I definitely could tell when I let my car cool down that it was faster, regardless of my 60ft, it made up for it at some other point on the track.
