2002 to a 2006....i wouldnt put my money on the neon just because the neon has suffered wair and tear and isnt as solid as it was brand new....the kia is brand new and probly runs prestine....but then again i dont know the condition of the cars...stock to stock if both cars were in good running order i would say neon but it would be a close one

wow....i just researched the horsepower on the kia....there are many different models including a hatchback....

but the standard 4-door has 138hp and like the same torque as a neon...thats the same horsepower too pretty much....
THE RACE WOULD BE VERY CLOSE
and with the neon being a few years old i would definately now put my money on the kia....sorry dude

Compare the stats online. I'm sure there are places that will show stats of most vehicles. Also, there is a website that shows 1/4 mile times for most cars too. Not sure of the url off the top of my head but it's easy to find.

...I would say the neon still. 2006 is kinda new. Engines need about 20k-30k miles to break in and there really isn't much wear that will effect straight line race performance. Plus you can't really trust what companies tell you their HP is. I believe they use different methods to find out how much HP the car has. So really Kias method could just turn out more horsepower than it has. My friends maxima has about 185whp and he goes fender to fender against corvettes. Corvettes say they have way more horsepower than 185hp. Its all about the power that gets to the wheels(whp). Kia is soooo economical that it probably loses a lot of that 138HP when it gets to the wheels.

Look up dragtimes.com. My wife has an 05 kia spectra auto. I think you would have a tough time beating it since you are auto but it might be close. By staying close to vettes they must be older ones like in the late 80's early 90's. Even than they have about 245hp, 345ft lbs of torque. Which is not at the wheels but at the wheels it should have about 200+whp and alot more torque than the maxima will have.

dragtimes.com is a great place to look. Its not computerized stats but the real thing. About the vettes...you would think right? Guess not, it could be a weight thing. He has never beaten a vette but has stayed right on its fender.
